Did a very good basement. Quality. I like their concrete work!

We had our basement developed by basement builders. They were very clear in their communication throughout the entire process. Any concerns were promptly addressed.

Overall, the basement development process was fairly easy and we are happy with the finished space. There were a couple of things that kept me from giving a 5-star review.

The first was an issue I noticed during the drywall stage that had been missed. I brought it up at the time so it could be addressed before the project was completed. I was told by email that it would be corrected when the trade returned for the final installation. Unfortunately, this led to some back-and-forth, and I had to push a little to make sure it was completed as originally discussed and agreed to.

The other issue is with some of the craftsmanship. This may be partly because I work in the trades myself and tend to be pretty particular about these things, but in my opinion, some of the finishing and workmanship was good, but not quite at the level I would consider great.

We are incredibly happy with our basement. The work was done timely, professionally, and to a very high standard.

After collecting four proposals for our basement renovation, we chose Basement Builders and couldn’t be happier with the decision.

Don stood out as the most professional and experienced contractor we met. His unique design and competitive price won us over, while Murry added creative ideas during the walkthrough, including a hidden door on a feature wall that has become a highlight for us.

The design process was exceptionally smooth, we were able to spec out the entire basement in about two hours. The project was completed ahead of schedule, and over the four-month build, there were workers at our house almost every day completing work, very organized.

Our project manager was prompt, responsive, and handled requests and changes efficiently. Having one point of contact made the process especially easy.

Phenomenal PM (Ryan), great leadership/design (Murray) and delivery. Very clear communication, expectations and outcomes that align. I am very pleased with our decision to use Basement Builders. The final product met our original plan, maybe even exceeded it.

We recently finished up a reno of my basement from basement builders, anytime I had a question the project manager (Ryan) was available and reached out to the appropriate teams to get it sorted out.
When the basement was almost finished, it was checked constantly for few issues we noted (scratches, re-do paint spots), and the finishing touches were done over a couple of days of just fixing minor things noted.

Thanks to the team to getting this from a unfinished concrete basement to a useable space!

MInor issues:
There was one incident of two contractors arguing and it got heated, the window was left open once and door unlocked once.
The workmanship is great! The tile, baseboard, drywall contractors were kind and respectful.
Even though there was slight damage done to the door, it was fixed in a quick manner.
Great communication: The Job Tread app was very helpful for communicating, uploading pictures, and quick professional responses.

This was the best experience with a company I have had in a long time! Very professional and the trades that where involved where top notch. I would highly recommend Basement Builders for your basement job. Also their pricing was very competitive and we did not have to chase anyone around and wonder if and when they were coming, everything was completed on time. I had drain issues at my place of business on a SUNDAY; 3 sinks were completely blocked and draino was not making a difference. Mr. Tang, the owner, came and snaked over 25 feet into the wall to clear the obstruction. He came right away, knowing my business needed working sinks for patrons. He made sure everything was clean and pristine before leaving. I’m so grateful as I know he took time out of his Sunday that he had been spending with family. You can trust this business. The owner’s interest to help, quality/completion of work and integrity are the highest I’ve experienced in 15 years of business.

Fantastic experience from start to finish! Each person at the company that I interacted with was professional and responded quickly. The process is designed very well, communication is clear and the development process actually reflects the plan laid out from the beginning, from the quote, to the contract, to the design work. Things moved along very quickly and efficiently, and the disruption to life as usual was as minimal as it could be. I would 100% recommend this company and was thrilled with the final result.

From the start, Murray set clear expectations about project timelines. He explained that after framing and plumbing there might be a few quiet days, which ended up being exactly right. The trades were all professional and came back at the right times to keep things moving. George, who handled framing, and the plumbing trades people were especially friendly and easy to work with. One thing that really stood out was when they replaced a window with a larger one, they restored everything outside (rocks, window well, etc.) exactly as it was before.

Our experience with warranty tech (Brandon) was good. He did the expected work on time . Our overall experience with douglas homes is great. They fulfilled our requests and did a great job in case of quality of home and all inspections after that.

I am so glad we went with Basement Builders for our basement development, even my father in law is impressed by the build, and that never happens. Everyone was incredibly polite and professional, and the development process happened so quickly. We barely noticed there were people working and they left our basement cleaner than when they started.
