I can't say enough good things about Wonder Dog Training and Melissa. She is fantastic and truly cares about our dogs and us. She's always available via text or a phone call, which I greatly appreciate. One of our three Australian Shepherds has some challenges out on walks whether it is with people or other dogs. We've used other dog trainers in the past and they haven't been as successful. Melissa took the time to evaluate him and come up with a plan not only for him but also for us. She worked with him several times on her own and then with us in our neighborhood and even at a local park. This training was as much for me as it was for my dog, Peanut. Melissa from Wonder Dog Training was absolutely wonderful to work with. She is so calm, patient and very understanding. Our dog is about 10 years old and at first I questioned if training would help or not because of his age. It was completely worth it and wish we had found Melissa years ago! Our dog is reactive to everything- people, other dogs, bicycles and skateboards so walking him like most regular or normal dog owners do was such a challenge and such a stressful event for him that at some point we stopped. Melissa gave us the tools we needed and confidence on how to navigate situations and work with Auggie with treat based/ reward training. So now we are able to walk him in the neighborhood and park. Our trainer Sharon Westervelt has been excellent at helping with our first-ever dog. We had no idea what we were doing when we brought home our sweet but excitable Golden Doodle puppy. We have been through virtual puppy class and are into our first virtual obedience class. The tips and tools are so effective in calming her down and keeping our family sane. Sharon has made herself available in between our trainings when we are struggling with our pup. Her advice works! With all of the dog training services out there, I was SO happy to have landed at Wonder Dog with Sharon. She truly did do wonders with my dog Benji who was dealing with aggression/nervousness towards dogs, people entering our home, and separation anxiety. I was feeling overwhelmed st everything I needed to help train my dog in, so I sought out a trainer. Working with Sharon eased my mind from the very beginning. She had some incredible insight into the “why” of certain behaviors and very clear instructions on the training. We researched trainers and were excited to have Sharon Westervelt come work with our new rescue dog. We have a Pyrenees/Lab mix. She is a large friendly dog, but wanted to make sure we could handle her and make sure she could become the best family dog she could be. Working with Sharon is amazing. She teaches us to communicate with Kai. Understanding the breed and knowing how best to train us and Kai. The advancement has been incredible. We did the 2 week board and train option for our dachshund, and Cat was absolutely amazing! It was the first time we had left our pup for such a long period of time, and she was very reassuring in our initial call. She also invited us to a socially distant puppy class so we could meet her first, and she clearly knew dogs. I got some great tips at the class, and our pup (who was terrified of other dogs due to Covid and lack of socialization) even came out to play a bit.

Drop off for the training went smoothly, and we were able to request a few commands for pup to work on. Cat sent daily updates and videos so we could see his progress, and by the end, our shy boy was happily playing with one of her dogs! I can’t say enough great things about Wonder Dog Training. We called Melissa when our puppy was almost 6 months old. Our puppy was having trouble not jumping on guests when they came in the house, she had trouble walking on leash without tugging or pulling different directions, and had trouble listening to us and basic commands without getting distracted. I can confidently say that after 5 sessions she is a completely different puppy. She can easily walk on leash around the block, knows not to jump on people when they ring the doo, and SO much more. Cat from Wonder Dog Training is an awesome trainer! We thoroughly enjoyed working with her. She is very knowledgeable on how to train dogs. She customized our training plan to meet our needs, worked with us to train our dog and provided very useful and effective training tactics. Before starting training with Cat, our 9 month old puppy would not come when called and never “dropped it”. After interviewing many dog training companies we chose Wonder Dog and are so glad we did! Each of our two dogs had very different training needs. Our trainer Shelly listened carefully to our training goals and patiently providing resources and strategies to achieve those goals. My boyfriend and I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Jenna as a trainer for my dogs. I have worked with Jenna for over 2 years now. She is so professional and always explains her training techniques so well. We first contacted wonder dogs for our 9 week old Australian shepherd who is now 2. She has taught my dog everything from basic obedience to fun tricks. People are always shocked that my dog is only 2 years old because he’s so well behaved! I had a great experience working with Jenna. She taught me how to train my dogs and how to interpret my dogs' actions to know how to respond to them. They are better dogs because of the time together and I'm a better dog parent because I can take what I learned and carry it forward.
I have 2 dogs--one is high anxiety (especially about men coming to our house) and the other is highly excited about everything. I've learned how to have people come into our home safely and how to walk with fewer aggressive interactions with other dogs. Their Dog Daycare and Boarding program is amazing! Carrie Thompson understands how to create a safe and fun place for small dogs. We know it's a real treat for our dog to be there and we NEVER have to worry about her. She only accepts well-behaved, small dogs. Our Bella LOVES it there and seems seriously depressed the next day when she's stuck at home with me. We also love that it's run out of her home, so Bella spends the nights with a family rather than in a crate in a building with no human presence.
