We needed a review of a property we were buying and had to find someone who would be good at the work and honest with us about the findings. They did an amazing job. They did both the structural review and home inspection. Two great staff spent about 4 ours each doing the review and analysis. I am truly impressed with the work product and their costs are right in line with everyone else. Honestly they could charge way more but they dont. I highly recommend them for any home inspection need.

Joe Bourget is my "go to" residential inspector for many reasons. He is thoughtful to both my client and me; punctual; ethical; conscientious of not only the buyers, but the sellers; very thorough and goes to great lengths to explain his findings from the inspection in a way that my buyers can understand. He provides a most comprehensive inspection report and emails it to my clients in a very timely manner. He also arranges for the termite inspection thus sparing my buyer the hassle of having to do that. I highly recommend TEC if you are in need of a home inspection or foundation evaluation. The experts at TEC are knowledgeable and professional. They do not perform any foundation repair work. Instead, they provide an engineer's report that outlines any issues and identifies their source. If repairs are needed they tell you exactly how the work should be performed so you can take the information to a foundation company with peace of mind.

I can't say enough great things about Thomas Engineering. I scheduled to have Thomas come out to check a load bearing beam that we planned on knocking out. Scheduling was so easy and Thomas came out within a couple days of the initial call. He has been out multiple times to double check and confirm that all details on the beam were correct. It was well worth the peace of mind to have a professional engineer make sure that our contractor was doing everything correctly; especially when your dealing with the structural integrity of your home. We will be bringing Thomas Consultants out again when it's time to have our backyard done. Very reliable and competent.

Tommy inspected the foundation of the home during our option period in Grapevine. He came out on time as promised, conducted his inspection, and took the time to answer ALL of my questions and did not leave until I was finished with all my questions. He advised me on what I should do and what to look for, took me step by step through the house, he showed and explained to me how he was conducting his assessment, had me look at different angles of the house and parts of the floor, he did a superb job of explaining everything. Great experience with this company from start (making the appointment) to finish, very friendly, and I trust he had our best interest in mind when he came out. Wow! Tommy came out to my home after a foundation repair company came out. They said that they would have to install multiple piers to support the foundation costing about $12k! Tommy came out and determined that while a repair was necessary, it didn't need the extensive repair that was recommended. He outlined a plan, and I received two more bids based on it. The final cost was $5k. I saved $7k by calling Tommy first! What a savior!

Tommy is truly an expert when it comes to foundation evaluations. I've known him for a couple of years now, and he and his team are tremendous! Tommy was very professional and did a great job for us last year. I cannot stress enough, how important it is to have your own independent engineering study done that is not related to, or done by the foundation company. There are many different ways a foundation company can cut corners justified by their own study. Tommy will do a comprehensive study and explain to you what needs to be done to have your foundation repaired, if in fact, you have foundation issues.
If you need a foundation repair, this unbiased evaluation will give you the basis for competitive bids.
I hope you don't need a repair, but if you suspect you do, have Thomas Engineering out first.

Thomas Engineering came out to my sister's new home based on the recommendation of a foundation repair company. It was obvious that areas of the home were not level, and I was very concerned that there were foundation problems that would cost thousands to repair. My sister has been living in California for the last 20+ years, and didn't appreciate the unique situation we have in Texas with foundation problems.

We received a surprising report: The foundation was sound, and functioning as expected, but poured with a slant by the original builder! While my sister might have to take special care in leveling the stove to bake a flat cake, it appears she doesn't have to worry about cracked walls or pipes! I really appreciate the expertise and honesty exhibited by Tommy LaLonde and his team, and highly recommend him to anyone!
