“Is this as good as it gets?” was the question I kept asking myself around age 50. I had beaten cancer, was trying to eat right and exercise, yet I still felt stressed, fatigued, and unhealthy—struggling with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and a deep sense of unworthiness.
As a caregiver for my adult daughter with autism, I had forgotten the importance of taking care of myself first. Then I attended an informational seminar for Alight Wellness, and everything shifted. Alight truly is a light.
As an introvert, joining a group wasn’t easy, freak flag on the inside, yah know. But I knew I needed to commit to a better path—one of living, not just surviving. Alight made that possible through bite-sized learning, weekly check-ins, engaging classes, and personalized labs with a clear treatment plan so I could understand exactly how to move forward.
Most importantly, the program focuses on mindset—what Dr. Hudson calls the “special sauce.” As I committed to the process, my outlook transformed. I now look forward to the future, manage my energy more intentionally, and feel like I’m truly living again.
