SOUND FURNITURE AND APPLIANCES

For years, Sound Furniture has been the only place I shop for major furniture purchases. Last week I had such a great experience with a member of the sales team I decided I really needed to leave a review.

Friday I was determined to find a new sofa. We had been planning on it for a while and putting it off, but it just came down to where it had to be done. We gave our sofa away shortly after Christmas with the intention of buying a new one, but we've been so busy, we just didn't get round to shopping for one.

In spite of having it blocked out on my schedule last Friday to spend the day couch shopping, my back was dealing with some kind of injury last week so I was not feeling like even driving the few miles across the bridge from Emerald Isle to Sound to look at furniture if it turned out they had nothing that fit the bill in stock.

I called the store and the sales lady who got on the phone was Nikki Hayes. I had very specific must-haves for a new sofa:

It needed to be:
– Under 84" long
– Not too low
– Firm and NOT squishy (plush squishy sofas can feel amazing at first, but they are awful if you have back issues)
– A light color – nothing too dark or bold

I said, "Do you have anything like that there at Sound Furniture? If so, I will drive over and take a look."

She said, "Hmm... I think I know the exact thing that might work, but I need to check. I will let you know in just a few minutes — is this a good number for you?"

I told her that one was fine to call or text.

A few minutes later I got a text with pictures from her of a lovely Capri sofa in a very pale powder blue with two lovely throw pillows. She explained that it hit all the marks — plus it had a high back which is a wonderful feature. (I had never thought about that, but she's right! It turns out to be an amazing feature!)

I told her I'd be right there to look at it in person and try it out.

I did go right there to check it out, but while I was there, my eyes were drawn to so many gorgeous sofas they have. Nikki patiently went around the store with me with a tape measure to measure sofas to see if they were at or under 84". Turns out several were, but most were too low or too squishy.

After a lot of evaluating, I finally decided to buy the blue sofa she had originally sent. Nikki was just such a friendly and helpful sales lady. I wanted to leave a review to credit her for doing a great job and as always to thank Sound Furniture for always offering top quality furniture and quick delivery!
