Horrible experience. Property owners please beware. This company does NOT care about your property. They cater to tenants and vendors. They nickel and dime. They are not good communicators. Work orders are not detailed kept vague intentionally. No photographs of work done. They placed a couple in our property that were absolutely NOT qualified to be there. Had to have a co-signer. We found out one of the tenants had an eviction just 2 years prior. After being inundated with work orders for months they had a domestic dispute, broke up and stopped paying rent. Went through an eviction process which Scudo worked a deal out with one of the tenants so that their buddy that co-signed was not included in the judgment. Fees! $100 move-in fee but you have to pick up your keys from a lockbox and do your own walkthrough, so I guess it’s paying them to clean? Idk why that isn’t their jobs. $10 to pay rent by check. $2.49 to pay online. They call contractors for everything, you’ll never meet any of them. If you like flying Spirit Airlines, you'll love SCUDO, because they charge junk fees for EVERYTHING. Nice people, but you have to pay a fee to access their online portal to pay your rent (it’s a “resident benefit”), and then no matter what method you pay by, you have to pay ANOTHER fee. Even an ACH transaction. And if you want to pay with a physical cheque, it's a $10 fee to do that! Be sure to add $50 a month to what the advertised rent is, because it'll be at least that much after they nickel and dime you just to do their jobs. Posted under a pseudonym because the lease has several clauses about evicting tenants if you're mean to them.

Scudo fell into my lap a year ago when a coworker needed to move, and I took over the house. They made the process very painless and simple. This year I chose to renew because I love where we live and it is very easy to contact and communicate with the office and property managers. The inspections are painless, and they give you ample time to have anything completed. I have also had no issues.with maintenance and if I ever needed anything Maria has been amazing and very communicative. SCUDO is definitely the way to go! Read more >

We've been renting with this company for 2 weeks now, and so far so good! We have had really quick turn around for all move-in maintenance issues, and move-in questions. They are very quick to send people/vendors for all the issues! The home itself was decent, other than some not so good quality painting/floor installation, and slightly outdated fixtures (ie, bathroom cabinets/kitchen cabinets appear to be the originals just painted). They also painted over the hardware in some places, so some doors are hard to open, and cabinet knows keep falling off due to paint in the screws. Other than these minor things, the home itself is pretty & nice! We were surprised they have very old windows, and that will most likely effect our electricity bills, but it's manageable! I had a very very poor renting experience with SCUDO. I think the fault lies on both the landlord and the management company.

When we initially saw the property it was obviously not ready for rent. Since we were moving from a different city we didn't have the opportunity to see the house one more time before signing the lease. I had brought up my concerns, most specifically fixing the fence with the property manager and she assured me via text that this was on the list of things to be fixed.

Although the property manager at the time was very nice and helpful we found several problems with the home.

The company ignores maintenance requests. Sent a request 7/2, they initially sent someone to fix it on 7/7 but they showed up and were told they were fixing a completely different issue .Then said the earliest they can fix it would be 7/10. 7/10 comes around, we don't hear anything from anyone, and then after 5PM I hear it will be Tuesday (7/11) afternoon. It's Tuesday, now they basically started a completely new maintenance request. No idea what the ETA on the fix is now because they are unresponsive. Just make sure nothing breaks (which it probably will because of cheap appliances) and you'll be alright, but if something breaks expect it not to be fixed. Read more >
