Chris came out right before Thanksgiving and replaced the capacitor on our heating furnace. Chris did an excellent job, was very personable, and extremely knowledgeable. Chris knows what he is doing. Because Chris did not have access to the right size capacitor, he installed a smaller one so we would have heat over Thanksgiving. Rocky Top HVAC was supposed to call me that following week so another technician could come out and install the correct size capacitor for my system. I never received a call the following week, or the week after. So, after a few calls myself, I finally got in touch with someone at the company. Admittedly, it wasn't a big deal because the smaller capacitor was working just fine and we had heat in the house. They sent Chris back out the next day and he took care of us in 5 minutes. Rocky Top Air has taken over the general maintenance of our compact heat and air unit. They have exceeded my expectations and provided great repairs and now our twice a year preventative maintenance. I would recommend them to take care of your heat and AC needs! Tim our service tech inspected our unit and made a couple of great recommendations heading into the cold weather season. He will give a recommendation of upgrades and why it will benefit our system. He answers your questions, but never pushes for you to buy the upgrade. Rocky Top Air did a great job in checking, repairing and cleaning our dryer vent. Our dryer vent goes vertically up through to the roof 20 feet. The duct work had separated and not properly connected spewing any lint into the attic space. This was corrected by using proper metal clamps along with any cleaning to ductwork and attic floor. (This could be a fire hazard if not corrected) The remaining duct to dryer connection was inspected and cleaned. This was a very thorough job that we highly recommend Rocky Top Air for not only just cleaning but inspecting and repairing any problem hazards.

He quickly identified an issue with our attic unit, proposed a viable solution and agreed to expedite the solution so as to avoid issues while we were out of town. On November 22, 2024, I awoke to no heat in a very cold house and a blank screen thermostat. I called my local longtime HVAC company. The phone wasn't answered, the website was gone, there was no way to contact the company. Then someone I trust recommended Rocky Top HVAC. The experience has been positive from Day 1. Their technician Alvin Collins came to my house that same day to diagnose the situation, get the heat up and running and soon my house was warm again. I was so impressed with Alvin's knowledge and ability. He listened to the concerns I had going forward about the reliability of the furnace itself, the thermostat and also the whole house humidifier that had never worked consistently. I called Rocky Top after having a different service provider look at the same problem my HVAC Unit was having, but had failed when they tried to fix the issue. Rocky Top[ sent out Timothy and Gabe who were very efficient and professional. They identified the problem part and ordered it on my behalf to be installed. It was very satisfying and made be feel confident to have well trained technicians to work on my unit. Will use Rocky Top in the future to service my HVAC Unit.

Update to this review: The part came in and was installed. Unfortunately the part did not fully resolve my problem. Tim came back out a third time and found the source to why the replacement didn't work out as expected. He found and fixed the issue and finished the job. I would like to start off by saying Rocky Top HVAC really does Rock!!! They are efficient and very professional. My husband and I are very pleased with their electrician Mark. There’s honestly not enough words to write that would express our sincere gratitude for everything he did for us. We would definitely give him 5 stars and 10 if we could. My husband is on oxygen and had a procedure done and was in the hospital while he was working installing a new electrical panel box. He went far and beyond to make sure he had all of the electrical back on so my husband would not be without his oxygen when we returned home. He is just very nice and caring.
