Dr.Illan and his team go above and beyond, ensuring every detail is understood and all your needs are cared for. I would not hesitate to jump on a plane and head down. Beto was my valet, his kind bedside manner definitely doesn’t go unnoticed, especially when travelling alone.

Medical tourism is a new experience for me. I never knew about it and to the honest, there is a lot of skepticism back home I faced from family and friends about getting medical care in Mexico. HospitalBC made it very easy for me to push beyond my comfort zone and get the medical care I need for a better life. The staff were welcoming and friendly from my driver Jaziel and valets Beto and Fred, to my physicians Jalil and Lidia, my nutritionist Flor, the nurses, all the way to our cleaning lady and the chef lady in the cafe who took great care of my wife for breakfast on our last day being discharged. LIFE CHANGING

I received a MGB from Dr. Illan in 2021, at 51 years old. I now have a normal BMI, take no medications, enjoy shopping for clothes, and never feel like my body is in my way of living my best life!
Being from the U.S. I expected a lessor level of care here in Tijuana. The opposite of this was true and I received wonderful care at a level that exceeded anything I had received during my care after previous surgeries in the US.
The travel was seamless and the staff was very friendly and professional.
I am here as a companion currently and noticed that during the 3.5 years between our surgeries, the hospital has added some very impressive new equipment to their facility.

Everyone at Hospital BC is great. I got excellent care from Dr Illan and the surgical team performing a MGB. The nurses and staff were very attentive and Beto made sure we had everything we needed. I got to see how they did everything 3.5 years ago with my wife and she has excellent results. It made me more confident about having chosen Hospital BC for my mini gastric bypass. I highly recommend Hospital BC.

This is my second time coming to Hospital BC. My first experience was great hence I returned to get more work done. I am happy I chose Dr. Jalil Illan to be my surgeon. He is kind and will listen to your concerns. All the doctors, nutritionist and nurses are super kind, they will attend to your every need. My driver Sal and my valet Beto are exceptionally kind and friendly.

I was scared the first time around to come all the way from New York to Tijuana Mexico to have had surgery done but after my research I am glad I chose Dr. Jalil Illan and his most competent and trusted staff to take care of me.

I have recommended plenty of family and friends and we all have had great experiences. Don’t hesitate to choose Hospital BC as your care provider for weight loss or cosmetic surgery.

My wife and I have travelled from Australia to have surgery with Dr Illan. We chose to come back as we had been here in 2019 when my wife had a gastric sleeve and I consulted with Dr Illan about my hiatus hernia and gastric reflux. As this was getting worse I decided to follow his advice and have the mini gastric bypass my wife did the same.

We have absolute confidence in Dr Illan and his team. Dr Flores was extremely helpful and explained things to us in a way that was so easy to understand. The Nurses are very caring and lovely. Flor, Beto, Fred, Juziel and Antonio all have been very accommodating and looked after us.

We would highly recommend this hospital and Dr Ilan and his team to anyone that needs weight loss surgery.

I traveled alone from Oklahoma to Hospital BC for a surgical procedure. Immediately upon pick up from airport my fears were put to rest. All the staff was extremely kind and attentive. They truly made me feel safe. Dr. Illan and his medical team did an amazing job and I highly recommend him. He is an amazing surgeon and individual. The highlight of my trip was a very kind man named Beto. He watched out for me, made sure I understood what all was going on and just overall made me feel like I was safe and in very good hands. This place is amazing!! I loved all the staff!! Sara at the front desk was awesome to talk to, Beto was soooo friendly and kind. Flor was very knowledgeable and I really can go on and on. They made me feel like I was family and I was actually sad to leave them. Pain was minimal with my procedure and they helped me whenever I needed it. I hope to go back to visit them one day. The entire experience was amazing and I will never forget the kindness that I was given. I was treated better at Hospital BC than I have been treated at any hospital here in the states!! Wonderful Team at Hospital BC, from Beto to Dr Flor and Dr Illan they all have taken such wonderful care of me since arrival. The care team here is also very comforting, very attentive and very compassionate. I would recommend this place to everyone who is interested in a new weight loss journey. They put me at ease with their constant & prompt communication. They are very reachable by phone and by email whenever I had any questions or doubts they were quick to provide a response. They don’t just let you go from here after the process. They follow up with you and check in you to make sure you are well after too.

I had the best experience at Hospital BC! The staff is amazing, especially Beto! Dr. Illan is the most informative, kindest Doctor I have ever met and I'm a nurse so I know a lot of doctors. My mom had her surgery her in May '24 and the whole staff remembered her and checked on her. The Nutritionist is very informative and makes sure you understand before she leaves. The entire facility is awesome and everyone is so kind and caring. If you need bariatric surgery I would 100% recommend this hospital and Dr. Illan. I had a wonderful experience and won't go anywhere else for my bariatric needs!

Hi my name is Sonya I’m 38 from Texas . I had the gastric sleeve done with Dr. Illan. I’m so glad I came to Hospital BC. From the beginning, Carlos had been staying in contact with registration and questions, Flor was ready to answer my pre-op diet questions, Jaziel keeped in contact about our flights and arrival and of course, Beto being here every step of the of the way encouraging and helping, also. The entire staff and nurses have been a blessing. The facility is nice and clean. If you are thinking about doing a procedure like this or any they offer, I highly recommend Hospital B.C.

Dr. Jalil Illan, his medical staff, nurses and support staff to include his drivers were amazing.

I came by myself. I felt very safe and comfortable. The staff spoke English very well and ended up speaking to them in Spanish the entire time. Everyone was very nice and professional.

I met new friends on this journey as well.
My private hospital room and bathroom were great. Housecleaning came by twice a day. The room has a Tv with Netflix and YouTube. You get a small care package with basic toiletries.

I appreciated the connections I made with Beto and Fred. They are very polite, friendly and uplifted my spirits for my new journey home.

I wish I could add another star! Dr. Illan and his team have been amazing. It feels like I’ve been staying in a 5 star hotel instead of a hospital. I really actually had a good experience here. The staff is really nice and attentive. They are the ones that really work with you from the time you land to the time they do you back of at the airport. Dr. Illan is a really nice guy. You don't see him except right before surgery and he explains his surgical process and makes sure all your questions are answered and alleviates your fears should you have any. The hospital is more comfortable than the hotel in my opinion. But it was nicely renovated. Just need to invest in better beds. I actually sleptt on the floor because the bed hurt my back so bad. And just so everyone knows, BETO IS THE MAN!! He really makes the stay just that much better. I wish I knew everyone else name but rest assured, they should all be named 💫Angel because that's what they all were

What an amazing experience! From pick up at the airport through drop off back… I couldn’t have chosen a better facility than this! Dr. Illan is the best and his entire team were amazing! Fred, Beto and Diego were the best! I cannot believe how affordable this procedure was and I cannot say enough positive things. If you are looking for a gastric sleeve, this is where you should go!

I was recommended this place by my cousins who have had a Gastric bypass surgery here previously and I am glad to have done it! Everyone here from the transportation staff to the doctors have been wonderful and accommodating. Thankfully there are enough Bilingual speakers here too so you don’t feel alienated from having to travel to receive surgery. I don’t regret coming.

I can’t say thank you enough all the staff, the amazing team of nurses and doctors. Dr. Jalil is incredible. The entire hospital is so unique because they genuinely care about you. I don’t feel like I went to a hospital for a procedure, I feel like I went to a resort and was cared for by friends and family! This has changed my life for the better!

What an amazing experience. Dr. Illan and his staff are fantastic. They took such great care of me. First sign of pain they were there helping me through it. My original gastric bypass failed but with Dr Illans team I've got a new start of weight loss and health . Beto, Josue, Flor, lupita, all were fantastic. So many others. I had a really great experience at this hospital. The staff is excellent! Dr. Illan came into my room before surgery to talk to me about any concerns I had (I got the gastric sleeve surgery). Sal, Beto, Flor, and all the other nurses and staff were very helpful and caring. The hospital is clean and up to par with any American hospital I have been to. I felt safe and well taken during my stay.
