My mother was starting to get up there in age when we decided that either she would have to move in with me, or I would have to move in with her. Her house was quite sentimental to us since my grandparents had bought it years ago and was the first family to live in it. After 50 years of marriage, it was passed onto my mother. We considered renovating the house, but it was going to cost $55,000 just to fix a lot of the issues, and that didn’t include any upgrades like new appliances and flooring. To add a realtor’s high commissions to the process, and the unknown of when the house would sell during these COVID times, we found it in our best interest to cut our loses and sell it quickly to House Buyers of America.
