My Colorado Theological Seminary Experience

I grew up in church and have been surrounded by the Word of God for most of my life. However, my experience at Colorado Theological Seminary took my understanding of Scripture to a deeper level. Through my studies at CTS, I gained greater biblical knowledge, clarity, and understanding that have strengthened both my personal walk with Christ and my ministry.

Today, when I lead Bible studies, prayer, and worship, I am able to approach God’s Word with a deeper understanding and greater confidence. CTS has equipped me to not only read Scripture, but to better understand its meaning and apply it in a way that can encourage and impact others. I am truly grateful for the foundation CTS has given me and for how it has helped me grow spiritually and serve more effectively in ministry.

"As a doctoral graduate with the Colorado Theological Seminary, I was honored within my 20 year faculty career with the University of Phoenix/Hawaii Campuses to have my on-ground courses expanded to the Humanities Department to expose our adult students to the three major religious disciplines; namely, the Jewish faith, the Christian faith, and the Muslim faith. And acknowledging that the State of Hawaii has a flourishing 'church going' tradition from its missionary history, I included in my required course curriculum an oral presentation from each student  on their religious tradition and church experience."

I retired from the USAF after 26 years in technical fields including avionics, computer science, and information technology. Over time, people regularly came to me with their personal struggles, and I eventually sensed a calling toward counseling. The mentors are amazing!! I love the fact that they were so understanding about family matters/issues.
I also loved that the program is self paced. This was truly a learning experience. No stress!! I actually learned a lot about the Bible. I also was able to sharpen up on my writing skills. I love to write. This is a wonderful program. The books for each course were great to read. To GOD be the glory.

My experience at Colorado Theological Seminary was both academically challenging and spiritually enriching. The curriculum provided exceptional depth of knowledge, with each course offering comprehensive coverage of its subject matter while remaining practical and applicable to ministry and counseling. Completing my Ph.D. in Clinical Pastoral Counseling through Colorado Theological Seminary strengthened my knowledge, sharpened my counseling skills, and better equipped me to serve individuals, couples, families, and the Church with confidence and excellence. I tried to buy my first course, namely, Creation Therapy, but I could not successfully figure out how to pay through visa. I need some guidance here.

My experience at Colorado Theological Seminary has been both academically enriching and spiritually formative. The program provided a strong balance between biblical foundation and practical application, allowing me to grow not only in knowledge, but also in my calling.

Colorado Theological Seminary provides useful biblical training
and instructions. The curriculum is comprehensive and highly applicable to my area of study which is Theology with an emphasis in Christian Counseling. I have found the classes to be very practical, which is refreshing.The self paced study has been a plus as well. It makes things less stressful.

Taking my first class in D-Min program now. Registration and getting started is quite easy. Student advisor is easily accessible and gets back to me quickly.

Courses are comprehensive and high quality. Professors are knowledgeable and prompt in providing feedback. All of my classes have been fantastic in helping me deepen my knowledge and grow closer to God.

I really enjoyed my MA Church History Masters course. My tutor Dr. Charles Legg was brilliant. He responded to every email I sent within 30 minutes, essays were marked in a very timely manner, and he was endlessly helpful. The Course covered all the major periods of Church History and had some other fascinating topics.

I received my BA in Christian Counseling here. All credits were easily transferred over and it’s been a pleasure working with them.

Easy to work with and responsive. The content of the online classes is well written and engaging. My mentor has been responsive as well. Courses are all focused on actual Biblical studies. Some colleges claim to be but spend a lot of time in areas that are not directly tied to scripture. If your goal is to continue your journey towards a Christ centered life this is the place for you

The study journey (DBS) at this learning institution was incredibly challenging! My student time at Hawaii Theological, where I earned a MACM in 2010, was a blessing; however, at CTS & Dr Legg’s honest mentoring and integrity seemed more professional and caring to guide me to a successful end of this study program. I'm truly grateful for Dr Legg and the learning institution he represents!

I am currently a student in the PhD in Clinical Christian Counseling Program. I have been extremely pleased and blessed with the content of the various classes in the program!! I can tell that not only have I grown in knowledge in the field of Christian Counseling but I have grown by leaps and bounds spiritually! Colorado Theological Seminary was an enriching journey. Although the coursework was accessible, the path wasn’t always smooth—I spent several years navigating personal and academic challenges before reaching the finish line. The sense of accomplishment was well worth the effort.

One of the most meaningful parts of my experience was the mentorship I received. My mentor supported me over the years, providing steady encouragement and guidance that truly made a difference.

I want to emphasize that Colorado Theological Seminary is far from a "Diploma mill." Having previously attended a regionally accredited University for my Master’s degree, I can confidently say that CTS required genuine commitment. The journey with Colorado Theological Seminary has been one of the most impressive experiences I have ever had. I have attended many Colleges and universities, which have contributed to my current preparedness. Yet, this education is the first I have been able to utilize for the current task God has placed before me.

As I reflect on my journey at Colorado Theological Seminary during the process and graduating with a Doctorate of Ministry, I'm grateful for the college, staff, and leadership of my mentor, Dr. Legg. I was challenged by the curriculum throughout the course. Any time I completed an assignment, it was graded, and comments were provided in a very reasonable timeframe.
As I transition into more ministry opportunities, I carry with me the things I learned at CTS. I am completing my first month of my first course in my Doctor of Ministry Program. While I am considerably older than most seminarians, I am finding the materials first-rate and the program inspirational. I am a retired college professor myself, so I recognize quality in academics when I see it.

My advisor is a marvelous lady who has been a joy to exchange calls and emails with. I plan to progress at the rate of 1 course a month, so I have 7 days to finish my last book and complete my term paper for my first course.
