Transitions
I was grieving the loss of my companion, best friend & soul mate
It was the lowest point in my life, burdened with sorrow & weight.
I usually do not question but I had to ask God ‘Why?’
God assured me that it would all make sense and I’d understand by and by.
We had been thru some challenges, many victories and great joys
God had blessed us with three children, a beautiful girl and two handsome boys.
My kids wanted me to sell the house we had lived in for 35 years
I was holding on to precious memories and shedding many tears.
Once I decided to sell it, I didn’t know how I’d get through
My kids suggested that a realtor could show me what to do.
One Sunday afternoon, Luis Martinez answered our phone call
He didn’t know this assignment would require him for the long haul.
This listing would be challenging and needed his expertise
Luis was a master at his craft and took on the job with ease.
He was very kind and sensitive to my unique situation
He never seemed to get upset at my endless communication.
Eventually, I met Deona and Tracy, Luis’ colleagues @ Chandler Crouch
They were both supportive, all business and neither was a slouch!
They kept me informed with updates and countless reminders it seemed
I welcomed their phone calls & emails for I knew this was a winning team.
The tasks before me were daunting & expectations were held high
I wanted to be successful and tried hard not to cry.
With uncertain paths before me, I greeted each new day
For I knew the Lord would help me and strengthen me along the way
One day, I met Rachel & George which was really happenstance
We were both visiting an open house that I had seen by chance.
I learned they owned a tortoise, two dogs and four cats
Soon after, they decided to buy my old urban habitat.
Then Luis told me about Kimberly who had been a Sale by Owner
When I saw her house, I knew that I could not postpone her.
At first, the mid-century modern bathrooms were too colorful for my taste
But I grew to like them when I thought of downsizing my space.
Luis has helped many clients both near and some very far
I think for services rendered, he should get a FIVE STAR!
So now I know what God was doing when he took my James away
He wanted me to meet new people and be more flexible every day.
I’m having new adventures and new horizons are in my view
So glad I put my house for sell ‘cause I wouldn’t have met you, you and you….
