We’ve been at BRT property in Brookfield for over 5 years. We came from a house we owned in New Fairfield, and we had never lived in an apartment community before so we did not know what to expect, but the property seemed luxurious to us. At first, we had a hard time adjusting to apartment living because of having expectations that it would be like owning a home, in terms of privacy, community, and what to expect from management.

Over the years, we adjusted and set realistic expectations. There were things we could not control, such as people not picking up after their pets and not putting them on a leash. After a while, we just learned to let those things go, because it’s something that is, I believe, really hard to control in any apartment community.

Our apartment is a 2 bedroom and one of the 2 bedrooms with a larger stone patio. This was an amazing feature, so my advice would be to grab these fast when they become available.

We have complained in the past about minor things, but they’re always resolved fast by management. Our rent has increased over the years but at a very reasonable rate and I believe, as a long term tenant, we have better than market rates for what we have. We have a friend that got frustrated here and he left to move in with a, supposedly new, facility through another company in Newtown. He drove by the other day and said he wished he didn’t leave. I believe he realized that BRT in Brookfield, is the nicest, most luxurious apartment living in this western part of CT. I sensed remorse when speaking to him.

I decided to write this review because I recently had such an affirming experience with property management and the maintenance team. Our refrigerator, after 5 years, died. Also, our AC stopped working in the middle of this heatwave. The refrigerator was replace, they did everything, and it’s actually an even higher quality refrigerator. As for the AC, I was worried about not having AC in the heatwave, actually panicked a bit. The HVAC person could not visit for a couple days, so Jessica, in operations, authorized Kobi, in maintenance to immediately purchase a couple of portable AC units from Lowes to keep us cool and comfortable. These portable ACs were considerably high end and kept us cool until the HVAC engineer could repair the AC unit. The repair was fast too. HVAC engineer was very friendly and positive. I was so impressed by the effort of BRT to go way beyond, and they absolutely over delivered on value. Thanks so much, and as always, it’s always a pleasure to have Kobi come by and say hello!
