Basement Builders

Finishing a basement is a big investment and it's natural to be careful about choosing the firm you entrust with the work. I'm writing this review several years after Basement Builders finished our basement and want to highlight a few things:

- The project was completed on time. Our home was visited regularly by the Basement Builders team to ensure that the work was on track.

- Extra effort was invested to protect our home during the work. The team installed a protective layer from our front door to the basement entrance. Dust was also managed well. The trades also used our basement windows (even when it must have been significant extra work) to load materials, where they could.

- No project of this scale is going to be perfect. We had quality issues, including some paint splatters on the stone for our fireplace, issues with our floating shelves, and so on. What's important is that these issues are handled without the project going off track and they are remediated properly. We had no problem getting these deficiencies remedied when pointing them out to the team.

- The big one I want to share. Basement Builders has helped us three separate times with warranty issues. Twice with LED lights and once with a shower door problem. I'm writing this review literally years after our project has been completed. The first time, our malfunctioning light was fixed in less than 24 hours from me sending the email. The second time, we had an issue with another light, and Basement Builders replaced all the lights of that type in the basement. The third time, again, multiple years after project completion, we discovered that the shower door in the bathroom had not been installed properly (we hadn't used it much which is why we had not noticed initially). I'll admit, I wasn't sure the team would stand behind this given the length of time that had passed. We contacted Basement Builders and they scheduled a crew to come and correct the issue, and it is now working perfectly.

We're very pleased with the way Basement Builders handled our project, especially how they have stood behind their work and been there for us when we've found issues.
