Came home the other day after work and it was 80 degrees inside my house even though it was 60 degrees outside. I typically keep it around 72. Checked the vents and it was blowing warm air even though my thermostat was set to 70. I checked the AC unit outside and everything seemed to be running fine.
Got online and scheduled an appointment for 8:00 AM the next day. The office called the morning of the appointment to confirm, and also let me know it needed to be a bit warmer so the tech could accurately diagnose the issue. A couple hours later the technician, Cody, called to give me an approximate arrival time. He also texted when he was about 15 minutes out.
Cody was professional from start to finish. He introduced himself, asked what was going on, and actually listened to what I had already tried before he said anything. He completed a full diagnostic, then explained the issue clearly. It turned out the AC unit itself was fine, and the issue was my thermostat being stuck in heat pump mode. I didn’t even know I had a heat pump. But Cody didn’t make me feel uncomfortable at all, even though as a homeowner you think you should know what cools and heats your house. He took the time to reprogram the thermostat settings so the issue wouldn’t happen again.
Cody also made a few suggestions about future issues, but never came across like he was trying to sell me anything.
After he left, I still had a quick question about how to change a setting, so I called him. He came right back without hesitation, and even though it ended up being a simple button I never knew about, he was patient and took the time to explain everything thoroughly.
Professionalism is great, but Cody went above and beyond. Honestly, who would you rather have working on your home, a friend you’ve known and trusted for years who just so happens to be HVAC certified, or a tech who showed up rushing through a job just to get to the next call? Cody made me feel like he was the friend who came to help and genuinely cared. Because of that, Arctic Air will always have my business and I look forward to sharing my experience with everyone I know.
