The Goddard School - Spring Garden, Philadelphia

The GS is a rhizomatic environment where kids have a safe and clean space to learn and develop with other kids and staff who support them and other staff at all stages of child’s growth and development. Teachers are flexible and attentive. Principal, Assistant Principal and owner are thoughtful, kind and down to earth directly involved in all aspects of school’s functioning and success. I will be biased and say that our classroom teachers - since they stepped into their roles - Ms Laine and Mr Hatton have been a revelation. They are superb and connecting with kinds; erudite; creative; bright! Their patience and empathy have made a huge difference for our son. We love their projects that range from yoga, to art, to biology… they are engaging and challenging, and we always have lots to talk about at home. We feel privileged to be a part of the community they construct in the classroom...

Our almost 5-year-old has been at Goddard from the beginning, and we are very grateful for the supportive and nurturing environment that they have provided. The spaces and classrooms are bright and spacious, and the teachers are awesome and responsive to our questions and needs. Such a good community of staff, teachers, and families.

Our family has been with this daycare for 2.5 years, and we couldn’t be happier. The teachers know our son well and treat him with such kindness, patience, and enthusiasm. He’s grown so much socially and academically during his time here, and he genuinely looks forward to each day. We really appreciate the consistent communication, the thoughtful activities, and the safe, caring environment they create. Highly recommend!

I love the Goddard school - Spring Garden. My daughter has been there since she was three months olds. She’s now a year in a half. The teachers there are amazing! Very nurturing, caring, hand ons, understanding and patient. I trust them with my daughter.She loves coming to school to be with her teachers and friends and is learning so much! Thank you Goddard for everything!!!

We have had a wonderful experience at The Goddard School – Fairmount. My child truly loves going to school each day, which says a lot about the warm and nurturing environment they’ve created. The teachers are incredibly caring and make a genuine effort to know every child by name, from infants through preschool. It really shows how invested they are in the children as individuals.

One of my favorite parts of this school is the level of security and transparency. I appreciate that I’m able to stop in at any time to check on my child, and I feel confident knowing the facility is safe and well-monitored.

I also love that the school is becoming more diverse, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for families from all backgrounds. While there were times in the past when staff turnover was noticeable, that has improved significantly, and the consistency...

We have had 3 kids at Goddard, and have been so happy with our experience! The teachers are so patient and kind, they have clearly invested time into getting to know what kids (even when they’re not the primary teacher for the room). I have seen they grow so much - particularly grateful for support in starting solids, potty training support, and launching my oldest into kindergarten! Our teachers are like family to us. I can’t recommend them highly enough!
