I was SO TERRIFIED when I found out I needed a root canal. My dentist doesn’t perform root canals, so she suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Sophia Kang.
I arrived at her office early to try and calm my nerves. A few moments after I was brought into the procedure room by Joelley (might have spelled her name wrong!), I started to feel significantly better. She was so informative, attentive, and gentle with me, and preemptive to my needs!
Dr. Kang sealed the deal, as she, too, was incredibly kind and explained everything that I needed thoroughly, along with a timeframe. She answered all of my questions and checked in on me continuously throughout the procedure. Surprisingly, I was comfortable and relaxed the entire time! Unfortunately not my first root canal, but since moving to Simi Valley it was my first time with Southern California Endodontic Group.

The entire process, was seamless! Dawn and Jill in the Front Office helped me schedule the appointment to fit my schedule and I knew exactly what it was going to cost.

I needed an emergency root canal and my general dentist recommended Southern CA Endodontic Group, Simi Valley Office. An opening was arraigned for the same day. Dawn, front office was delightful. Dental Assistant Joelly was caring and so professional. Dr. Roya G. performed the root canal surgery. Dr. Roya has the best equipment and explained the root canal surgery step-by-step; amazing surgeon.
This was a good root canal experience, if it’s possible to have one, this was it!

I was referred to Dr. Pokras and boy was I pleasantly surprised! Upon walking in, I was greeted with Dawn's friendly smile and pleasant conversation.
Then, a really nice woman named Jenn took me back to the chair. I came in to the doctor due to pain after a cavity issue and getting a temporary crown fitted. Jenn was very understanding and caring when discussing my issue. Maybe she could tell I was nervous since I hadn't had a root canal since I was a kid. She was very gentle and professional while taking the x-rays and scan of my teeth.
When I met Dr. Pokras, he was very nice and calming to talk to. He was very professional and polite. He got started on the root canal. The way the doctor and Jenn worked together was such a relief. No one looks forward to getting a root canal....but I did get one and I had the best experience here. The office was modern with state of the art equipment, I loved the large TVs in the rooms with videos of oceans and fish to relax you and I even was supplied head phones and picked out my favorite music group to listen to while the root canal was being done - Dr David Pokras is a very skilled professional and did a great job!
