STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNETHICAL BUSINESS!! Rock Top Air conducts unethical practices utilizing their Maintenance Program. They claim that it is a preventative tune up program, while it is a tool to access the members' home and sell new units. They will do the tune up during the first visit to make you happy. Later they will find small issues (while not performing tune ups) and finally force for a new unit.

Our home has two 8 year old Goodman/Amana units. We had the Rocky Top Air's Maintenance Agreement where they come out every 4 months and replace filters, tune up units and does preventative cares. During the second visit this summer, they said upstairs unit has low refrigerant (Freon), recharged and billed us ~$190. After we inquired, they said the leak was due to missing caps of air conditioner valves outside unit which should've been covered by the tune up visit. When...

We are, once again, very pleased with Rocky Top Air. Fred Schiller was most helpful in many ways. He explained things thoroughly and even repeated information when I didn't understand all of the terminology. His vast knowledge of this field is enhanced by the amazing amount of experience he has. Larry Savard was my technician. He arrived on time. Polite, knowledgeable, courteous. Performed check-up service on the two units that are in my home. I have used Rocky Top for service for several years and highly recommend them to others.

On Aug.26,2015 we had our last service call of 3 systems (air & heat) for 2015 contract.
Mr. Fred Schiller performed the system(s) check with the outmost professional knowledge. I respect him for his down to earth explanations with the customer.
We signed a new contract for 2015/2016 (Rocky Top Air) with the understanding that he will be available to perform the system(s) inspections.
We had some previous experience with Mr. Drew Saffles, also an other excellent service representative of Rock Top Air.

We called to report a leak in the furnace room, and Fred came to the house about an hour after our call. He quickly fixed the problem (a hose was not connected), and took the time to ensure we knew how to set and use the new thermostat. He explained our options to maximize efficiency and comfort with the new system, and we gained useful information. All in all, we love Rocky Top's service, and this service call was another excellent experience.

Have struggled communicating with them after the sale when I had an issue with installation cleanup. Poor customer service. Will not do business with them in the future no matter the price, nor recommend their service.

Fred came out on a Friday evening and took care of our upstairs unit, which is where our son sleeps. He also gave up some helpful tips about managing our units, particularly in running our fan to save on our electric bill.

We have been in service contract with Rocky Top for around 3 years. All the techs have been very professional and efficient. Until today, Fred exceeded all of that with his knowledge of running our units more efficiently. If we need anything, I will be requesting Fred!

I first hired Rocky Top Air about 3 years ago to recommend and install a whole-house dehumidifier in our Harriman home.That first experience was great. Everyone we dealt with was professional and friendly. They did the job quickly, and the new equipment helped control the out-of-control humidity in our house.

Fast-forward to this spring (2015). Our Aprilaire dehumidifier decided to croak. Fortunately, the three year warranty covered replacing the unit with a new one, but we still had to pay $350 for Rocky Top to install the new unit.

Here's where things went sideways. We were in the process of putting our house on the market, and we let Rocky Top know that we needed it fixed pronto. In fact, throughout the repair process, we informed them repeatedly that the dehumidifier needed to be fixed as we were preparing to close with a buyer. We were assured that they...

Had a few runs in with the company on fixing our ac unit. First guy kinda rigged a temporary fix till he could get back out. He had a wire running out of the ac outside then through a window and to the thermostat inside, kept falling off the way and my roommates would trip over it. Next guy didn't even call, just showed up and left when the door was locked, when I was about 5 minute away at my work ready to let him in. Then Fred, called when he was on the way, seemed very knowledgeable and figure out the problem in about 5 minutes. Im sure the other technicians are good too but super impressed with Fred. I'd request him if you are contacting Rocky Top Air.
