Lillian Homes

We contracted with Lillian in January and have had a terrible experience thus far. I have been asking them to show us a home with our same brick selection for over a month now and have been given the runaround. Our sales manager was pleasant enough to get us to agree to contracting with Lillian but has treated us with the least bit importance since. Professionalism seems to be a foreign theme that doesn’t exists amongst their ranks. I’m highly disappointed and would not recommend Lillian to anyone, anyplace, anytime, at any price, under any circumstances. PERIOD!

Do not work with these crooks. We signed a contract on December 31, 2020 for them to build a house for us. We paid our earnest money. Months and months went by and we were told “everything was fine.” Then, 5 months later, we get an email (not even the decency of a phone call) telling us we must agree to a $92,000 increase in the sale price. If not, they’ll refund our earnest money, minus a service charge because “we were canceling.” We wasted 5 months. We could have gone with an ethical builder. Total scumbags. May they go bankrupt.

We signed a contract back in November 2020 for a home in Waxahachie to be build by Lillian Custom Homes. Now in May, 7 months later, they came back today saying they needed $50K more then the agreed upon price to continue construction. They send out an email this evening, and are giving one business day to make a decision. This is extremely deceitful, unethical and feels like extortion. Needless to say I’m extremely disappointed, and would never recommend this company to anyone.

My friends attempted to purchase their dream home through this builder. Lillian took eternity to build it after accepting earnest money. They then tried to charge them 60k more than what was previously agreed upon (8 months later). Lillian is very unethical. I would not allow them to build a dog house for me.

Let me start off with, I understand that having a house built takes time. That was never the issue. The issues started after the first sales manager quit because she was wonderful to work with for a few weeks before she left. We then had two sales managers within a month that also left and then because we had no communication whatsoever, our house was assigned to a sales manager that worked for a different community. Erin seemed like she could care less about anything we said or our house in general. We had almost non existent communication for months that my husband and I got ahold of the COO because we were left in the dark with no progress on the house or an explanation as to why. The COO apologized and explained the delay but Erin could have easily reached out to let us know instead of waiting months for no updates or communication. Lillian Custom Homes terminated our contract, after they took too long (over 6 weeks), to get prices back to us for upgrades. Their excuse was it was going to cost them too much to build our house at this point. They clearly do not hold true to their mission and values they have posted on their website. The whole process was stressful and now, a waste of our time! I should have listened to prior negative reviews I had read about them.

We just closed on our home with Lillian two weeks ago. Initially we were paired with some individuals that left us with some very challenging situations. As a Real Estate Broker, I understand the problems, but we felt the problems were too much. I am a 20 year Army veteran, and we were desperately looking for stability. We were blessed with Carolyn Weber and Coleby, our builder. They were fantastic in ensuring we closed on time, and that all our needs were met. Even to this day they are reaching out to assist me. This home is amazingly built, also on the business side it is a huge asset as it has already appreciated in value. Thank you Lillian for finally giving us a real home!!
