Basement Builders

My wife and I recommend using Basement Builders for your basement development project. Knowing the right company for your project is key to success in my opinion and I picked Basement Builders solely based on their affiliation with Mike Holmes and their Google ratings. They did a great job, my wife's happy and we are not disappointed. The project was:
- 2 bedrooms, bathroom and living room, ~700sq ft
- Delivered on time and per quote
- Broken into three payments over time
- Incorporated custom cabinetry that they designed for us
- Old tiny windows replaced and cut to code size with wells
- We had nothing roughed in and they Installed all plumbing needed in the concrete with backflow valve
- Simple and easy interface with Don, Murray and Kristina. They provided ample communication on all design aspects.
- Multiple walkthroughs with Murray...

Areas for improvement:
- The review sessions felt rushed and changes weren't documented in the plans. Everything discussed should be amended to the plans on sight. This would remove any discrepancies and confusion.
- Heat. One of my biggest concerns on this project was how comfortable the basement would be. I had many discussions with people in different areas, but it was not something that anyone was familiar with. I would include this item as a separate review session, and have an itemized list of solutions to work with the client on.

The initial sales discussion was good, and I liked the initial feedback and plan regarding the project. Several other contractors gave me a quote without understanding what that amount included. I liked that the work was reviewed and corrected as needed. I liked that the level of workmanship was held to a high standard and respectfully completed within my home.

Basement Builders did our project on time and to the specs we set out. They were responsive to our questions and easy to work with. The design and planning process was simple and straightforward and the finished product was excellent. I would recommend Basement Builders to my friends and family.

Basement Builders is an amazing team that care about their clients. They build things the right way and always strive for high quality. This is my second time using basement builders and I cannot say how thankful I am for what they do. I wouldn't bother looking anywhere else if trust, workmanship and quality is what you are looking for! Basement Builders recently completed our basement development. If you are looking to have your basement finished then look no further. This is the company you want. Start to finish, the project was stress free, completed on time and on budget (actually slightly under). From management to trades crews they were very professional, clean/tidy and simply did outstanding work. Big shout out to Murray Primeau for always being there to answer all of our questions and guide us through the project. We are thrilled with our new space and 100% recommend this company!

Basement Builders team was exceptional from quoting right through to finishing! Communication was tremendous throughout the whole process. Would recommend Basement Builders to anyone thinking of having there basement finished or renovated.

The initial quotation was quick and effective and the management team was good to work with. The subcontractors' workmanship was good and they were all polite and left a clean workplace. The selection process for the trims and options was clunky and not well managed leading to delays in the completion but, overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Basement Builders.
