We took advantage of Barb's offer to help with challenges to the new property tax valuations. My neighbors all built their own packages and submitted, and 0 of 7 were approved. My (free) package from Barb's team allowed me to spend 5 minutes online uploading their two documents, and resulted in a substantial decrease in our property tax increase. Barb is more than a local realtor. She appeared on a local radio program, offering assistance to homeowners upset at the very high tax assessments sent to them in 2023. Barb responded to my emailed request for information on how to file an appeal, sent comps for recent sales (actual, not projected), and I was able to successfully lower my property tax. Barb helped us lower our taxes on two properties by providing comps and valuable information. The appeal for the rental property was satisfactory, but we requested a hearing for our home property, resulting in a reduction of nearly $100K from what the assessor's office originally provided!! Barb Schlinker offered to help when our home taxes were astronomically and unfairly raised by the government of the County in which we live. She put a fair appraisal of our property together for us to use when we contested the County's appraisal of our property. In the end, the County lowered our taxes to a lesser extreme. We were not a customer of Barb then, but we will be when we need to sell.

Barb was very responsive to my request to provide the comp information I needed to appeal my property assessment. The assessment had gone up 69%. The appeal reduced it by 10.4%. Barb made the process very easy by also giving me step by step instructions for the appeal process. Thank you Barb!

Barb recently offered, as a community service, assistance to help us appeal this year's property tax assessment on our primary residence. She included, at no charge, a listing of comparable home sales during the data-gathering time frame, as well as her own professional assessment of our property's value. We attached this information to our appeal to the county assessor. Unfortunately, the assessor wouldn't budge. However, we didn't give up. We used this same information from Barb on our further appeal to the County Board of Equalization, and had the assessed value of our property reduced by nearly $51,000. This wasn't as much of a reduction as we had hoped, but it wouldn't have happened without Barb's assistance.
Although we are not in the market to sell our home at present, we would certainly give Barb our highest recommendation, whether you are buying or selling a home.

Barb was very helpful in getting our El Paso County Assessor Market Valuation reduced. It was not a huge reduction but compared to many who received no reduction we did appreciate her assistance in getting our reduction.
