Our son was a recent resident at Way of Life Sober Living in Carlsbad. I tend to be a researcher by nature, and from the beginning, Kevin answered all of my questions, provided resources both for us as parents, and for our son and and checked in with us on a regular basis. His staff in the house are also truly dedicated. I haven’t met many people who are so willing to help others; Kevin went above and beyond in so many positive ways. He is professional, demonstrates high integrity (which is so critical in this field), and has helped us navigate this challenging “new world” of addiction recovery with honesty and compassion.

My stay in Way of Life was the best ever. I have been in 4 different sober living houses and this place is so amazing and clean. Everyone there is serious about sobriety and is a no BS house. It’s run clean and everyone is very responsible. Your held accountable for your meetings, keeping clean, requires participation of house meetings. If your serious about recovery this is the best place to stay

I walked into the way of life 9 months ago broken and lost. Kevin set me up at his house in Oceanside. From the start I was blown away. The house is beautiful and right down the street from the beach. My house mates took me in with open arms and showed me how to live again, how to have fun, and most important how to stay sober. The way of life changed my life. 10/10

I had the privilege of managing Way of Life from day 1 opening. Way of Life was special to me because it was an extraordinary home, unlike most other sober livings. Way of Life had integrity and all residents were motivated to participate in recovery while holding one another accountable. Kevin Thon made sure the house was kept in excellent condition and provided countless opportunities for residents to have fun. We went surfing, out to eat, fishing trips on Kevin’s boat, and even to a cabin near Big Bear for a weekend get away. This was crucial for those in earlier recovery because we needed to learn how to have fun in sobriety and this gave me a new appreciation for life. Way of Life was a key component in my sobriety and lasting friendships I have today. I write this now with over 5 years of sobriety and sincere gratitude for what Way of Life has done for me. WOF saved my life. After getting out of rehab these guys really picked me up and showed me that living sober could be fun on top of healthy. If I didn’t end up at this place, who knows what direction my life would have taken. Also, the owner is very involved with the residents and makes a point of giving back to the community.

My son is starting his second month at the “Way of Life Sober Living, Inc” / Oceanside in San Diego California.

My 22 yr old son spent several months at Way of Life and the experience was first class. It was a healthy blend of structure, accountability and freedom. The home is spacious, comfortable and super clean. The house mgr and the residents were all friendly, helpful and respectful. Kevin was professional, understanding and extremely accommodating. Living in another state, it gave his mother and I some peace of mind. I highly recommend.

Way of life is by far the best sober living I have been to. I have stayed at two other sober livings prior to Way of life and there is no comparison! The staff and environment were top notch and just what I needed to lay a solid foundation for my recovery. The structure in the house felt perfect without being overwhelming. I did NOT want anything to do with sober living but, I knew for sure that if I went back to my familiar routine I was not gonna make it. After my last of many detoxes and rehabs I looked at several options around North County. Some were down right scary. A friend found Way of Life for me and set up an interview with Kevin. He put me at ease telling me about the house and how it is ran. I wasn’t planning on staying more than a month. I ended up there for 8 months and it was exactly what I needed. The best part, they allowed my dog. Which I believe was and is a big part of my recovery and others. Nothing put me more at ease than knowing my best buddy was gonna be with me the whole way.❤️
If your looking for a chill atmosphere with great recovery I highly recommend Way of Life. It’s scary to take that step but you will be so glad you did.

Way of life is by far my number recommendation for a men’s sober living. Working as a case manager in the recovery community I have first hand witnessed the impact this sober living has on men to shoot them in a positive direction and influence them to have strong bonds in recovery. Glad I found way of life. Great place to transition back to a positive clean life. Very clean and absolutely no problems with the tenets. Feel very comfortable and the Oceanside location is close to beach and everything else.

Way of Life in Oceanside is just as wonderful as the location in Del Mar. We checked out both for a loved one and was impressed with not only the physical residence, but the willingness and knowledge of Kevin, who took the time to explain their program. It's exactly what we are looking for in a recovery private home for our son. Clean, safe, and the fact that accountability is a big part of the program has sold us!

Best sober living home for men in San Diego. Clean, affordable locations near the beach in beautiful neighborhoods. The structure is really good here without being strict. I’ve seen other sober livings and there’s no real comparison. Way of life also has a very low relapse rate.

You can trust this place to be what they represent. Totally helped my son get on track and the houses are so clean and in great locations. I like how the owner Kevin and House Manager Ryan is an active member of the recovery community as well. Keep up the good work Kevin and Ryan!

I was at the Oceanside location for 2 years and owe a lot of what I have to Way Of Life and Kevin. It was the perfect spot to transition out of treatment for me. I know that it is a safe place to get your life together with guys that are looking to do the same. Highly recommend this place!

Being in recovery in the area, I’ve gotten to meet and interact with the men of Way Of Life Sober Living as well as the management and staff.
