Stepping Stones Academy has been a vital part of my son Skyler’s life since the age of 3 yrs. old. He is now 5 yrs. old and this will be his last year at Stepping Stones Academy. Reflecting back on those 3 years I can only think of nothing but positive memories and experiences that have certainly enriched and have helped shape my son to who he is today. I feel that as a parent and educator myself, I find it a necessity to write about my personal experiences that my son went through while attending Stepping Stones Academy. I truly feel that Skyler’s 3 years at Stepping Stones Academy has certainly exceeded my expectations in what an excellent Pre- school should offer to their clientele. The whole entire team at Stepping Stones Academy always attempts to go above and beyond to cater to the unique needs of each and every child who is enrolled at the academy. The classroom activities that are offered to the children are structured to be very well rounded. The daily activities not only addresses the cognitive aspects of the children’s development, but they also touch upon the psychomotor aspect, inquiry and self discovery, problem solving and spacial awareness recognition that children are being exposed to in their early adolescent years of development. In addition, I feel that the outside activities and field trips are very relevant to the classrooms activities that the children are learning about. I feel that the field trips truly are an extension of the children’s learning outside of class that offers real life experiences and hands on learning that can only occur with these out of class excursions. Despite all of the outstanding attributes that I have mentioned about Stepping Stones Academy, one thing that stands above and beyond what I have wrote is the fact that my son Skyler always tells me, “Daddy, I love going to school”.
