Stepping Stones Academy

Our time is coming to an end at Stepping Stones Academy due to relocation however we absolutely loved our time here. Ms. Kiran and Ms. Bedika was so kind and sweet to us from the very start and our sons teachers in the Explorers class was nothing but delightful and caring for our son! He’s already grown and learned so much since starting. Drop off and pick up is very convenient, we LOVE the updates of photos and videos throughout the day! My daughter has been enrolled with Stepping Stones Academy - Waipahu since she was about 18 months old and she will be 3 and a half when we leave. Unfortunately, due to a relocation she will be attending a new school.
Our experience has been exceptional. Ms. Julie is an attentive and considerate Director, answering all of my questions in a timely manner. All of the teachers treat my daughter lovingly and keep me updated throughout the day on the ProCare app as well as with a brief description of her day when I pick her up. Our son has been going here since 2021 and will be graduating next month. Since that time, we’ve seen him come out of his shell, make new friends, attend fun field trips, and develop his cognitive, emotional and social intelligence. Although it’s only Pre-K and he still has much growing to do, I feel like attending Stepping Stones was beneficial to his readiness for kindergarten. Also, as a working parent that relies heavily on schedules, we liked the fact that drop off is as early as 6:30am and pick up is as late as 6pm. Overall, we’re happy with SSA :) Read more >

I love Stepping Stones Academy because the staff is the absolute best! They all treat us like family and I know my son is in excellent hands. I love the ease of communication through the Procare app and receiving pictures of my child throughout the day. I know what my child is doing throughout the day and have total peace of mind while I’m at work. Stepping Stones Academy in Waipahu has given my son the best first step at integrating into a classroom setting and his social skills have improved so much since enrollment. Stepping Stones has been the biggest blessing for our son and for our family. Our son has special needs and we were so scared to place him into any childcare. From our son's first day at the Academy, the whole staff cared for our son as if he was their own child. The care and love that was provided to him was such a blessing and a relief. From his temper tantrums, being a picky eater, always wanting to be held and never wanting to take a nap, the staff showed so much patients and compassion for him. Our daughter joined the Junior Pre School class when she was 2.5 and has grown leaps and bounds in terms of her social, motor, and cognitive skills as well as independence due to the care provided and curriculum developed and followed by the educators at Stepping Stones. She has formed wonderful bonds with classmates and teachers and is excited to go to school everyday. I love the app that the teachers use to share updates and pictures throughout the day, and they have been prompt to call us when any issue or incident has arisen (e.g. minor bumps on the playground). They've also supported potty training and I have learned new tools and language for discipline and regulating big emotions that have helped immensely, as well. I loved Stepping Stones Academy because they have the most nicest and friendliest staff. Everyone is genuinely very kind and you could tell they loved what they do. My daughter loved it here. Admin Miss Julie is always there to answer every question you have and is just the nicest person to conversate with right when you walk in the door. Miss Ruby, Miss Flo, and Miss Marilyn were just the sweetest teachers and was very nurturing towards my daughter. I highly recommend this preschool. Read more >

The operating hours of 630am to 600pm was really great for me because I was able to finish school and the subsequent work training. Updates throughout the day using the ProCare app gave me peace of mind. This included snack time, lunch, nap time, bathroom breaks, and daily activities. Incidents were followed up with, which I appreciate. Staff would take the time to let me know about my son's behavior. Parents are invited to interact in events such as trunk-or-treat and book fair. Stepping Stones Academy- Waipahu is an EXCELLENT school. My daughter started going since she was two months old and if it was not for my financial situation she would stay there until she turns 5. The teachers are caring, friendly and I always felt they had my daughter's best interest. Because of SSA and their teachers my daughter knows the colors, numbers, shapes, is potty trained, has gone on field trips and knows how to spell her name.
