This company is very knowledgeable and skilled in all kinds of mold and testing for it. John answered all my questions thoroughly, and was able to fit me into the schedule quickly. After the testing found mold he consulted me on what to do with crawlspace and which remediation company to use. He then consulted with parties involved upon my request to make sure they did what needed to be done.

After remediation and crawl space work/dehumidifier install the retest found ZERO mold in home.

The type of mold we had was Curvularia. So not black mold. But it multiples quickly and high levels of it definitely have an adverse effect on your health over time....

I had the pleasure of using John Gainey and his crew a Smart Air Environmental to test our condominium for mold after we had extensive water damage. Unfortunately for us it took three times to get the mold content down to acceptable levels. However, each time John came out he was prompt, professional and thorough. We got the test results quickly and were able to have our contractor reclean the unit. I would recommend Smart Air Environmental to anyone needing an independent entity to use their expertise.

John Gainey addressed a mold problem that was found in a house we were selling. The buyers inspection period was soon over and John came out with a one day notice and we got the reports in less than two days. As well as receiving rapid professional response he educated us on what caused the problem and what had to be done to remediate the mold infested area. He then gave us a list of companies he felt were competent to provide the remediation. I would recommend his company for any environment testing that was required.

John came out to my home several months ago when my wife found out she needed a bone marrow transplant in July. John got all the readings of the different spores floating around due to roof leaks. John recommended someone to remediate the problem. They did an excellent job as well. John wanted to reaccess the house before we returned to our home in November. It is crucial that the air has as few molds ect... as possible because she doesn't have an immune system for several more months. He came out the week before we arrived home and gave us the all clear. He is honest, straightforward, and very knowledgeable in his field. This is probably the only review I have ever done, but it meant that much to me.

We dealt with John Gainey at Smartair Environmental on two separate occasions due to mild issues in our Oak Island home. John responded quickly, took time to explain the testing process, results were returned quickly and a full report included suggestions for remediation. After the work was completed, John returned, did a second round of tests and we then received a report indicating our home was mold free. This report became one of the selling points during the negotiations with the buyers. It gave the buyers peace of mind and the name of a company they could follow up with should there be questions. Highly recommend Smart Air. John was extremely knowledgeable and instrumental in getting good samples and the proper testing in a difficult situation. Other testing had been previously performed by another company, but Smart air performed the proper testing to assure safe and appropriate corrective actions. While this was an unusual situation, extra care and analysis was required and they delivered.
