I had never interacted with a management company for houses but the way this one runs is so beautiful! From the beginning I have felt well taken care of. DO NOT RENT FROM SCUDO!! I wish I could go back in time and tell myself not to sign a lease with these people. During our lease there were multiple health issues such as open plumbing, mold, and holes in flooring all caused by the bad contractors they hired. The house was filthy when we moved in and had to be scrubbed from top to bottom and they are now trying to charge us for crazy amounts even though it’s 10 times cleaner than before. Horrible communication. They only email using do not reply email addresses and if you try to call there is conveniently no one available. If you leave a message, they won’t call back. So far NOT good. They are all about taking advantage of the property owners. Renters are happy because they will go above and beyond to fix and repair every tiny thing possible so they can charge the owners. They use their own maintenance and contractors. All the quotes are 2-3x what they should be. We obviously want our property taken care of. We also want the renters to be happy. But it's way overboard so that Scudo can nickel and dime the property owner for everything possible to make even more money. Researching online...this is typical of most property management companies.

Landlord Beware
As I write this review of SCUDO Property Management, I genuinely hope that I can steer other property owner’s away from this company so they don’t have to share my experience. SCUDO is a poor choice for property management as it failed to take care of my properties (it managed 6 of my properties over the course of a year and a half) without providing a reasonable level of diligence while charging constant and excessive fees. As an out of state owner, I must have a property manager that I can trust to take care of my property and not take advantage of me.
Some examples of not operating with a reasonable level of diligence include, but are not limited to:
1. Charging for a new dishwasher which was never installed. When I moved the property to a new property manager, I discovered what had happened, and while SCUDO did reimburse me, it clearly failed... Read more >

From very first contact to present I have had nothing but a GREAT experience with SCUDO. Maria Castillo (leasing agent) has been an AMAZING help! It’s great to have a direct contact to a real person instead of just automated messaging systems. She made sure that my application process was as easy as possible, responded to questions very quickly, and even gave friendly reminders on payments and how to get everything setup correctly. First of all let me say my move was unexpected and needed to be done as quickly as possible. I found the property I liked on a for rent website and clicked the contact button. Due to the immediate need for placement I needed to speak to someone to make sure the property was still available before waisting my time with the application process. When I first called it actually took a couple tries to get a live leasing agent on the line (they have a call service that answered the line) and was a little irritating because of my time constraints. That was the only issue I have had! After getting Maria on the line and explaining my urgency and frustration with the answering service, she gave me a direct number for communicating.
