What a Relief!--PDX Renovations Review
PDX Renovations served a crucial need for my spouse and me this past season. We had lived in our home since 1980 and loved it. Earlier this past year in May, I fell in the living room and injured my whole right side with severe soft tissue damage and went to a care facility for a month before I could return home. This became a serious wake-up call for us to be proactive about our living situation.
With all the work and stresses that it takes in maintaining a home, my spouse and I thought it would be safer and less of a burden for us to move into an independent living facility. That meant we needed to sell our home and so we checked in with several realtors. This was before we had heard of PDX Renovations.
We listened to the various realtors’ methods and suggestions to get the maximum amount of money from the sell and were told we would need to remodel a number of rooms in the home, requiring several months of contractors walking through the house to do the renovations, then still downsizing the many possessions, and then staging the house, having open houses and many other things that felt frighteningly overwhelming because my spouse and I have limited energy. Having Parkinson’s for over 10 years, I just didn’t have the capacity, physically or emotionally.
Things seemed much brighter for us after we contacted PDX Renovations. They gave us a bid that would not require us to fix up the house or go through the myriad hoops needed before the house would be ready for market.
PDX Renovations filled those needs beautifully, taking on the house “as is,” and letting their company do the rest. What a relief!
Something else that was so reassuring about PDX Renovations is that they have a purchase model of not tearing down the house (like many other companies do in Portland) and then putting up two new $850,000 houses in its place. We really appreciated that reassurance!
They made us an offer, we thought about it, and then we accepted the offer. They had many different options we could choose from to see what fit best for us.
They answered the many questions that we had about the whole process and how it worked. They came up with a schedule to the various inspections (which they coordinated themselves) and steps required.
They excelled at communication and follow-through and were exceptionally pleasant to work with.
We are now in the final stretch with all paperwork in place, inspections done, and downsizing and getting out of our home. I have been working with the escrow company and am setting up all of the final details.
It has been a major change in our lives and we’re so appreciative of the flexibility, skills, and support PDX Renovations exhibits!
