I’ve been going to Dr. Brown for over 15 years. The staff is always patient and pleasant. The office is orderly and clean. Yes, there’s a bit of a wait but in all honesty it’s worth it. Once you sit with the doctor it’s a quick and easy experience… you can ask questions and get all of your concerns taken care of. I recommend Dr. Brown for quality eye care.

I have been a patient of Parkway Eye Care for many years( probably 15 or so). It was recommended to me via word of mouth, as Dr. Brown is an African American MD.
Never had any issues( wait time is usually lengthy),however, I mentally prepare for that in advance.
My son and I had our annual eye exam with Dr. Sulkin yesterday. What a wonderful experience. Minimal wait time( have never been on a Saturday) , very professional and took her time explaining her findings. Fastest visit that I've ever had in this office.
Happy that Dr. Brown has an associate to assist with the patient load, minimizing the wait times.
Pauline is EXCELLENT!! Knows her stuff when it comes to insurance benefits, frame selection, and just being a people person.
She is a definite asset to the practice!!!

I love Parkway Eye Care Center! Blessings upon blessings to Dr. Ruth Salkin. I’ve been a patient here since 2015, and I wouldn’t trust my eye care to anyone else other than Dr Brown (depending on the day).

Dr. Salkin is an amazing ophthalmologist—compassionate, respectful, and deeply committed to her patients’ eye health and overall well-being. Her attention to detail and level of care feel like a luxury experience, never rushed.

In 2016/2017, I had a serious eye issue and visited an urgent care and an ER in Newark, but they couldn’t help me. After $$$ then drained. When I went to Parkway, Dr. Salkin immediately saw metal in my eye. I don’t know if it was from the gym or walking near metal structures, but I was in extreme discomfort. If you have Medicaid or Medicare it is the best place to go... They have enough staff to handle people that waiting even without an appointment you don't feel it! I'll recommend both places( Irvington/ East Orange)

The Doctor and the staff was very pleasant. They all take their time with you. I Love my new glasses ❤️.Great atmosphere, and they really care about their patients.
