New Hope Acupuncture and Wellness

First time doing acupuncture and had a great experience. I was recommended to do acupuncture pre and post IVF in addition to my other fertility appointments. I was so lucky to find New Hope locally in Acton. She was really knowledgeable and considerate of my early pregnancy symptoms and was helpful in getting relief and helping me safety through the first 16w. I would recommend for any fertility journey, not just IVF.

The acupuncture treatment was very effective! I had persistent headaches that didn’t want to go away, but after around two rounds of acupuncture they stopped entirely and haven’t come back. All staff are very nice and extremely thorough. Treatment is also very adaptable; before each session there is a back and forth check-up about your current health and so the treatment every time is adjusted to meet the most recent changes in your health situation, making treatment especially effective. For instance, I had initially gone to cure my headaches but the doctor also helped get rid of a very bad cold I suffered from during one specific week during treatment. All in all, great experience, would recommend.

Dr. Shu is very knowledgeable. I had a lower back pain with no acupuncture experience before seeing her. She talked with me for half an hour to understand my health situation before starting the procedure. She told me my kidney and stomach do not rest well at night, by looking at my face and tongue (which is true because I stayed late at night, had a kidney stone and a stomach issue before). She used her palm to press my chest and abdomen and finger to pinch my hand & foot, and based on my feelings, she told me which organs I need to pay attention to. Her explanation makes perfect sense, and the treatment made me feel very relaxed (I felt some warm water flowing under my back although there was no water at all). When I shared my amazing experience with my coworkers at lunch, two of them told me they visited Dr. Shu before and had the same positive experience. Highly recommend!!

Fangrui is everything that a patient looks for in a practitioner! Through her wealth of knowledge and kindness, I knew I was in great hands. She has helped me with my lower back pain & digestive issues through both acupuncture & Chinese herbal medicine.

My daughter and I contracted Covid in early January of 2024. Dr. Shu is excellent, and I highly recommend New Hope Acupuncture and Wellness. What I appreciate most is how caring and thorough Dr. Shu is. She asks about previous symptoms and how I am feeling at the start of each appointment. Though the practice is busy, my appointments never feel rushed. Dr. Shu takes her time and I leave the office feeling great. The staff there is wonderful, too.

My original health concern was plantar fasciitis, which I had for almost a year. Dr. Shu treated it and I'm now 100% pain-free. I had tried PT and going to the podiatrist, but neither made it better.

Dr. Shu is one of the best doctors I ever met. She is caring, empathetic and most importantly you get to establish a connection with her and trust her! I suffered severe finger stiffness for about half year, visited couple specialists and did a lot of tests, nothing found. Because of the pain of frozen shoulder, I found Dr. Shu here. Dr. Shu understood all my physical conditions and gave me needles， After needles I tried cupping. The whole process took almost 2 hours and I felt very comfortable. The pain in my shoulder joints eased a lot. Many thanks.

I came in without having tried acupuncture before. I had an ER visit where I was dealing with extreme back and abdomen pain and there was no diagnosis or treatment given to me by my doctors so I decided to try acupuncture. This was the best decision I made. I felt so validated when I told them my symptoms and pains. I was not able to sleep on my back due to the pain and couldnt sleep through the night. After the first time going, I had the most restful sleep since the first onset of my symptoms. She talks you through the process and every step that she does during a session so you feel relaxed and comfortable. I highly recommend coming and trying acupuncture. I have felt great and even my doctors have told me to continue!

Dr. Junting Shu is amazing. I was referred by a friend to see Junting. I had struggled for a back pain near the shoulder area for a long time. I am impressed by Junting’s acupuncture skill as my pain was relieved immediately after the treatment. During the acupuncture session, she carefully adjusted the treatment based on my feedback. Junting is very professional and caring. I am very grateful to her and highly recommend her.

Wow! Where do I start?! I was suffering with severe migrianes 3-4x a week. I would wake up with a dull headache almost every morning and it would turn into an excruciating migraine by 4 pm. After just a couple sessions I was down to one a week and now most recently made it just shy of 3 weeks without one! My only regret is not finding New Hope sooner. New Hope Acupuncture exceeded my expectations. I originally went for lower back and flank pain. After just three sessions, the pain has gone away. I had seen countless doctors prior to the acupuncture, for the back pain, none of whom could determine the cause. Now that the pain back has subsided I continue to go for other issues including carpal tunnel symptoms. It is very relaxing, clean, and highly satisfactory.

Dr. Shu provided expert treatment for my neck pain and related tingling in arms. The acupuncture process addressed issues systemically, releasing tension and tightness in neck and back muscles and improving the nerve sensation issues significantly. I was able to combine these Chinese Medicine treatments with my physical therapy and orthopedic treatments with great results. PT and Ortho practitioners were all enthusiastic about including acupuncture for both pain management and overall systemic health. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Shu and her staff. I have a range of medical issues the biggest being uncontrollable high blood pressure. After working with Dr. Shu I no longer have chest pain or extremes in my blood pressure. She is very attentive and I feel like she truly listens to what is going on with me. I am a radiologist for 25 years. I have always thought majority of pathology can be visualized and medical treatment only rendered if you have symptoms. But Dr. Shu shows me how Eastern medicine can be such wonderful complimemt and adjunct to Western medicine. I seeked her help with my chronic shoulder pain which I have received several steroid injections for. My orthopedic surgeon suggested surgery which I prefer not to go thru at this time. Strong recommendation for New Hope Acupuncture where you can receive caring, personalized care. Ms. Shu is very sharp, attentive, very patient, and strives to get to the bottom of my ills. I started with New Hope to help with a pinched nerve which caused pain in my left shoulder and arm. They were very accommodating and saw me on short notice, even extending their normal hours to help me. A few days after my first session, my pain was greatly reduced to where it was not longer bothersome. I decided to have them also treat my life long digestive issues.
