One of the most wonderful people and the best acupuncturist I have ever met. I recommend her to everyone with all my heart and love. My knee pain is gone, and she is also effective in all other diseases that have arisen in the meantime. Unfortunately, my daughter has Crohn's disease, and her results have also improved. After having Covid, then a cold brought back from european travelers, ear infection and overall NOT FEELING well in spite of antibiotics ear infection, I found New Hope acupuncture. I have gone to other in area, but Dr Shu is a gifted practitioner.

I felt better after the initial treatment and When I came to the 2nd treatment expressing a constant fluid build up in ears she worked her magic! I no longer am walking around “under water”…for those who suffer sinus and ear issues make an appointment!

My body was healing from so many viruses ( forgot to mention the glorious tick incident that kicked iff antibiotics prior to Covid) and the general lack of energy especially towards end of day was so draining and unusual ( long covid ? I originally came in to treat ankle pain and after the first session was able to increase vigorous activity with little to no pain. I learned however that acupuncture can treat various ailments and began working on treating poor kidney function. She really took her time learning more about my symptoms and how they have been impacting me. After one session my symptoms were significantly milder. Dr. Fangrui Shu is very thorough and works hard to improve her patients quality of life.

I recently started going to New Hope for acupuncture to primarily address issues from my c-section as well as upper body pain from holding my baby daily and nursing. I was amazed at how quickly the treatment worked, especially for the c-section and scar. I could literally feel movement within my stomach and c-section area and had very quick relief after that. There were moments during the treatment that, once needles were placed, the pain or discomfort I had at the start of the treatment session was gone. Having been to another acupuncturist in the area to try to and address these same issues without any relief, I can 100% say this is the place to go for any pain related issues and overall healing. We are still working through some other issues I have but it’s clear that just a few sessions with Fangrui can make a world of difference!

If you’re even thinking about trying acupuncture, honestly, give this place a chance. I’ve had chronic back pain for years and tried everything physical therapy, chiropractors, doctors, you name it. Nothing has helped the way New Hope Acupuncture has.
I came in pretty nervous, but they made me feel comfortable right away. They really listened and took the time to understand what was going on, not just where it hurt. For the first time in years, I can walk without that sharp pain and finally take a deep breath without feeling tightness.

New Hope has been a great experience.
After 4 weeks of acupuncture all of my nausea, chest pain, and heart palpitations are gone. I feel more relaxed with a clear mind.
I also would get really tired every afternoon for few hours. She knew how to treat that and I have a lot more energy now, and I don’t get the afternoon grogginess.
I am trying an herbal tea to help with kidney stones and my digestive. So far I feel so much better!

I have been suffering from occipital neuralgia (nerve pain) caused by a neck injury during one of my non-epileptic seizures (a symptom of my Functional Neurological Disorder). Modern medicine had me doing nerve block injections into my scalp every 5 weeks but when that failed to keep the symptoms at bay, my life became bed-ridden with constant pain - some of the worst in my life, which is saying something as someone who has several rare chronic conditions.

I was referred for acupuncture here at New Hope and after a few weeks of treatment my occipital neuralgia has lessened tremendously with most days being zero pain days. This in turn, has helped my Functional Neurological Disorder in that less pain means less fuel for the seizures and therefore many less seizures. My quality of life has improved tremendously due to the treatment at New Hope.

I highly recommend New Hope Acupuncture. I had muscle aches, especially hamstrings. Through a series of treatment I am feeling much less achy and my circulation has improved. My once cold feet are now no longer cold.

I've been seeing Dr. Shu twice a week over the last 2 months for the pinched nerves in my neck. The numbness, the tingling and the pain in my right arm/fingers have reduced about 50-60%. I look forward to continuing until all the symptoms leave my body. The herval medicine she formulate for me is quite pricy but I believe it also is helping to reduce the numbness.

I have been seeing Dr Shu for about 6 months for my TMJ and seen great improvement. I’ve tried many other TMJ treatment including night guard, physical therapy but did not see any improvement until I started acupuncture treatment here. During the first session Dr Shu also noticed a bump on my neck which later was diagnosed as a benign thyroid nodule by X-ray. She has been treating my problems as a whole and surprisingly the nodule became hard to notice after 3 months. For TMJ we worked on it gradually and eventually used electrical stimulation and see great results. Overall I would highly recommend this practice.

I have been suffering from back pain for quite some time!! Have tried to address with other types of treatment. Never considered acupuncture until it was suggested to me as providing some immediate results. Please understand that I was having difficulty walking!! Found New Hope Acupuncture through a search and decided to call based on ratings.. I am so glad I did.! Let me say that I don’t really write reviews, but feel strongly to do so now. I hurt my back a day before I was leaving for a trip overseas. I desperately did a Google search to look for acupuncture so that I could enjoy the trip and survive a seven hour plane ride. I was fortunate enough to get ann anppo and the treatment I received had phenomenal results. Not only did I have a pain-free flight, I had a week of walking 7 to 8 miles a day with no pain. Unbelievable!!!

Good energy, Doctor Shu is very professional and kind. I had a chronic coughing last time and I just met her 2 times , my cough is almost recovered without any medicine.

I came to fix my lower back and hip pain. Dr. Shu is very patient, professional, and really cares and wants to make you feel better. After a couple sessions(Dr. Shu checks with you every appointment and does different kinds of treatment based on your condition), my year-long pain has completely gone(I’ve tried months of chiropractor and PT which didn’t work much), and other minor issues have also been fixed (low energy level, etc). I’ve been curious about acupuncture for some time and decided to give it a try after my husband started going. Initially I had a whole host of “issues” that I needed help with, from perimenopausal symptoms to back pain, anxiety and low energy. I’ve been getting acupuncture twice a week for a few weeks and have noticed a dramatic improvement in all of my symptoms. This was my first time trying acupuncture, and I came to Dr. Shu for help with irregular periods and PCOS. I’m a cancer patient (Ewing sarcoma) currently undergoing long-term chemotherapy. I started acupuncture treatment with Dr. Shu two months ago, and it has helped me a lot with the side effects of chemo.

Before acupuncture, I was really struggling — the neurotoxicity from chemo made my feet tingle painfully, I often had night sweats and felt nauseous. Since I have chronic gastritis, the nausea was especially hard to handle. My calf muscles ached so much that I couldn’t stand still for long. The pain relief cream prescribed by my oncologist didn’t really help much with the calf pain.

I've been seeing this acupuncturist for about a month now, and the results have been truly remarkable.

When I first started treatment, I had elevated prolactin levels that were affecting my overall health. After just one month of acupuncture combined with herbal medicine, my prolactin levels have decreased significantly and returned to the normal range. This was confirmed through lab tests.

The treatment has also been incredibly effective for menstrual cycle pain. I noticed immediate relief after one session - the pain that used to bother me would disappear right after acupuncture. This alone has made such a difference in my quality of life.

Two months after running a marathon I suffered a bulging disc causing chronic back and leg pain and loss of function of my foot. Two years of intensive physical therapy and chiropractic treatments helped manage the pain and improved my mobility but I continued to experienced pain on a daily basis, had a significant limp and was unable to run. My chiropractor suggested I give acupuncture a try and recommended New Hope AcuCenter in Acton.
