While we have many expectations on how we want our relationships to be, what our ideal partner is, a relationship by itself is yet another tool to help us live life, for better or worse, as it brings to us a set of experiences that teaches us something, good or bad; it points out our blind spots and forces us to choose, to stay as we are, or make the changes to become better people. I need to able to love myself in order to love another, I am my own responsibility, not my partner's, I support her, but I don't become her.
