Lotus is a great place! It was our child's first time in a rehab facility, so we have nothing to compare to, but he had a good experience. They do group sessions two times a day, and individual therapy once a week (but could be more as needed I think). Family therapy too. It was an emotional experience sending our child there, but we did feel he was safe there and well taken care of. They do have quite a bit of free time(of course a bht/therapist/admin always present), for good or for bad. I know they are encouraged to use it well. They have around 1 arranged activity every day, like dog therapy 🥰, yoga, and music lessons (my child loved this part), horse therapy field trips etc. Your kid will beg you to bring them home but stay strong, they will learn a lot there even if they say they want to come home and don't like it. When considering the impact of Lotus, the quote, “A team is only as good as its leader” comes to mind. In that vein, I don’t think you can truly understand Lotus until you know its leader and Executive Director, Gary Hazy. I worked with Gary for eight years and have known him for ten years. During that time, I have personally experienced Gary to be kind and compassionate while also being a tenacious leader. When it comes to doing what is right and best for kids, Gary has high expectations for himself and his staff. He does not accept excuses but is also there to support you every step of the way.

As a volunteer for lotus , I can not say enough about the commitment and dedication of all the volunteers and employees of this non profit organization in pursuit of their mission .In 2023 alone nearly 100 children between the ages of 12 to 17 were treated for addiction to deadly substances and saved from self destruction . In this year nearly 500 thousand dollars of free or subsidized care was provided by this group to disadvantaged families desperately seeking treatment for their children . Our family couldn't be more grateful to Lotus Behavioral Health for the support and care they gave us during a challenging time. The difference I see in my son is indescribable. The staff at Lotus has done absolute wonders in helping him get back on the right track, and consistently work toward being the best version of himself that he can be. The day we arrived at Lotus, he was angry, hurt, confused…the day we left, he told me he’d miss it there. His therapist did wonders for him and his mental health, staff members gave him parting gifts, some asked for permission to stay in contact so as to be a mentor and positive role model in his life…I could go on and on. As a retired employee from Lotus Behavioral Health All I can say is, this is a wonderful place where your kid will be safe and taken care. very professionals and trust worthy. they do focus on making your kids get better and make them feel more secure and happy about themselves. I cannot find the words to express how wonderful Lotus Behavioral Health was for my child. We had tried other programs without success. Then, we were referred to Lotus and from the moment we arrived, I was moved by the amount of compassion and caring that the staff had for us as a family.
