I had my surgery at the beginning of July, and I’m truly amazed by the results. I had a 360 Tummy tuck/ lower body lift, lipo and a slight bbl.
Having been hospitalized for Covid in the past, I developed a real fear of doctors and hospitals. But Covid also pushed me to get healthy and lose weight—which left me with loose skin. At first, I only casually researched plastic surgery, convinced I’d never actually go through with it. That changed when I discovered Hospital BC.
Since I have family in Tijuana, I decided to visit and “kill two birds with one stone.” My original plan was to attend a few appointments with different surgeons, but after my consultation with Hospital BC and Dr. Laura Alvarez, I canceled them all. Dr. Laura’s charisma and warmth instantly put me at ease.
When I returned home, I decided to face my fear and book the surgery. Amor, my patient coordinator, was incredibly helpful and patient, answering all my many (many!) questions without hesitation. Before finalizing anything, I met with my doctor in the U.S. for a full evaluation. He cleared me for surgery, which I recommend everyone do before committing—it saves everyone time and ensures your safety.
As my surgery date approached, I was beyond nervous. I flew in the day before and was met at the airport by the hospital valet, who handled my luggage from arrival to departure. At the hospital, I underwent thorough pre-op testing—blood work, X-rays, and even a cardiology exam. I met someone who had been delayed for surgery until her health levels improved, which reassured me that Hospital BC truly prioritizes patient safety.
The hotel they arranged for me was beautiful—no corners cut. I admit I cried several times from the moment I landed to the moment I settled in my room. But my anesthesiologist soon visited and calmed every nerve I had, explaining everything in detail. He was as professional as he was reassuring. Dr. Laura and her husband, also a surgeon, marked me up while chatting and laughing with me, making sure I felt confident.
On surgery day, Beto wheeled me down to the operating room, talking and comforting me the whole way—service you just don’t get in the States. I had been terrified of being awake under twilight sedation, but once I sat on the table, saw the smiling team around me, I was out like a light.
When I woke up, I had no pain—none at all—and I kept waiting for it to come, but it never did. The following seven days were pure recovery bliss: great food (yes, hospital food!), attentive nurses, and staff who truly cared. The hospital itself feels boutique and exclusive, even with security on site, so I always felt safe.
Dr. Lidia, who oversaw my aftercare, is exceptional—attentive, a little strict (which is exactly what you want for the best results), and always available. When I had a minor drain issue at home, she immediately video called me, coordinated with Dr. Laura, and resolved it.
Hospital BC is the real deal—upscale, safe, and patient-focused. If you’re considering plastic surgery, do your research, get healthy, and choose a team you feel 100% comfortable with. For me, that was Hospital BC. Every time I look in the mirror now, I can’t believe it’s me. The pictures here are right after surgery, so I’m still swollen quite a bit. My belly button is perfect, and I can’t wait to see how I look after swelling goes down.
