I had Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) surgery via Dr. Illan at Hospital BC in August 2020. The experience at Hospital BC is exceptional, in fact the entire ‘process’ of qualifying, shuttle to and from San Diego airport, level of care, etc. is exemplary. Dr. Illan is world class at what he does, as is his anesthesiologist Dr. Curiel, and I selected them vs. a United States surgical team for that reason alone. This is a “lifetime” procedure that needs to be completed with expertise. The high level of care at Hospital BC is icing on the cake. Highly recommended!

This is my third five star review at the end of my third 5 star experience. In July 2019 my wife had MGB and we had a wonderful experience. On November 13, 2019 I have a gastric sleeve (it wasn't safe for me to have an MGB yet) and lost 80 pounds. Exactly one year later on Nov 13, 2020, amidst Covid and a crazy world, I had the MGB I originally wanted and look forward to losing another 80 to 100 pounds. First, all three procedures and all the travel cost less than one gastric bypass in Georgia where I live, with a far less eminently qualified surgeon. Second, due to family health conditions, I have spent a lot of time in some of the top rated hospitals in the US including Emory and Northside. Hospital BC markers that they meet the standard of care of US hospitals but in fact they far exceed it. There is a physician on each floor at all times, what is normally done by RN's is done by...

The best bariatric surgery center in Tijuana. Private hospital & private rooms. Dr. Illan, Dr. Ampudia, Stacy, Bill, nurses, valets & drivers are all amazing! My husband & I are both patients and have had so many friends & coworkers have their surgery here as well. I’m on my 3rd trip here this year. I can’t say enough about them. Prices are great and the support you receive before, during and after your procedure is hands down the best in Mexico.

I had the most amazing experience here. Dr I was great! They took excellent care of me in a large private room. I went alone and flew in on the same day as my surgery... I was a little worried about this but my flights were canceled due to the fires in the PNW. Then I flew home straight from the hospital. I was WORRIED but it was a piece of cake. They took such great care of me 24 hours a day while there. They made sure I had everything I needed for my flight home. I felt safe and cared for the whole time. I’ll admit, I have ZERO tolerance for pain and tend to be a whiner and they were wonderful!!

Here with a friend that had the surgery they are taking good care of both of us. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help with our needs! I'm happy to have had the opportunity to be around such caring people.

SUPER NICE! Kinda scary cause all surgery is. I'm very happy with my experience. The staff was kind and SUPER ATTENTIVE. They take real good care of you and have a video online that shows how smooth, clean and professional the procedure is (after seeing it, i felt reassured, is graphic tho). They also give you video of x-ray w/ barium to show you how small your stomach is after surgery. It's tiny! FOLLOW PRE-OP DIET for smooth process. It does hurt the first week but it goes away. I will post an update when a year passes, my BMI is 37 right now. Can't wait till a year passes. THANK YOU SO MUCH DR. JALIL ILLIA & THE STAFF AT HOSPITAL BC!!!

I went to Mexico alone and felt very safe. They had a driver pick me up, my surgery was the next day and I never had the best care in my life. They take care of you. The hospital is very clean and they all speak English. I never had to push the nurses button one time. It has been 2 years and I have lost all my weight and feel great. Dr. Jalil was great
