Just had my gastric sleeve on Monday October 10th, 2022 the first day was rough after surgery some pain and my blood pressure was high but that's too be expected it went down as the days went by. I was also a bit nervous cause I was coming here by myself with no companion and know very little Spanish but I was met with the wonderful staff who made me feel welcome! Dr. Illan I met once before surgery was very friendly wish I could interact with him more but he knows what he's doing! Then we had the wonderful attentive care of the nurses Aime and Esmeralda. And the drivers who do more than just drive they are your support team and make you feel a home away from home! Beto and Fred! And Flor is the nutritionists she comes in and gives a thorough run through of what you're diet is supposed to look like for the next 8 to 10 weeks post surgery. She also gives helpful tips for the next year...

I have struggled with my weight for years to the point that every diet I tried I ended up failing, or every weight loss clinic would just have me regaining my same weight when I went back to normal eating habits and off medication. Weight loss surgery was an option I was considering, but it was too expensive to try and have the procedure in the US. Dr. Ilan has amazing credentials and has an excellent bedside manner and really helped me calm my pre-surgery nerves. Fred and Beto were super attentive and made the stay as comfortable as possible. I had VSG surgery 9/29. I came from Georgia, flew into San Diego and a very kind valet Ren picked my husband and I up. We learned a little about San Diego and Tijuana on our journey from the airport to the hospital. Once we arrived we were greeted by the very kind receptionists and had my pre op done. Joe, the valet escorted us to our room and got us settled in. There is a doctor on the floor at all times and they are all amazing. Dr. Ilan has such a wonderful personality and he is a true joy to be around. What nervousness I was experiencing was gone after I talked to him. The anesthesiologist was amazing. Valet Beto was wonderful! Everyone on the team responds to your call light immediately, constantly checking in and assessing your pain and nausea. I got my VSG September 28th 2022 Dr Illan and his team was amazing. They are especially more concerned in your care and take pride in making sure you are comfortable. I did my research and am so happy with my Hospital BC choice. Dr Illian was excellent as well as all of the staff. All very kind and caring, especially Beto, Luis and Annabelle who answered my questions. They really take care of you here.

Hospital BC is definitely the place to go if you are looking for weight loss surgery. I received better care here than I would have back in the states. Dr. Illan is wonderful and treats you as a family member. The hospital is very clean!!! The staff (nurses & doctors) are amazing, very attentive and accommodating to your needs. Love how they would all say goodnight when they left for the evening. The valet Beto is amazing, he is right there to help you in anyway, checking on you, positive encouragement and translation for you for some of the nurses. I’m again blown away by everything and everyone associated with Dr Illan! I am here as a companion, but I had surgery with Dr. Illan 8 1/2 years ago. The care that my friend is receiving is far and above the care given in US hospitals. You will never feel alone during your stay as the amazing valet Beto will see to your every need! The men who provide transportation are always kind and considerate. Most medical staff are bilingual but if there is a communication issue, Beto is close by to help! My stay here at Hospital BC has been amazing. The Doctors, nurses and assistants have been in my room every couple hours for any needs and continuous IV fluids.
