I acquired him from Tim in August, when he was fully trained at a little over 2 years old. My first call with Tim was really good. He asked questions about what we were looking for and worked with us on a pick up date for the puppy since we couldn't get him right away. During this time he sent me pictures and updates on our puppy which was so nice. The day we picked him up he was so happy to see us. He had all of his shots and was in great health. We want to have him hunt with the other 2 dogs we have. He's such a lovable dog and loves to play with us and the other 2 dogs. I would recommend Iowa Pointing Labs!

Tim and his staff are very knowledgeable in the process of picking the right genetics so the puppy you get will work well for the results you are after. I also am excited about the head start training program they have developed. This program gives the new owner a puppy with a solid baseline of skills for the owner to work off of.

Great people that know tons about dogs. I have a 2 year old I bought from them at 9 weeks old he was already head started training Great around my kids and catching onto everything we train him on.

Great people to work with and awesome dogs. They helped me receive an amazing puppy who is training well and learning fast. 100% recommend the headstart program for a well behaved puppy who is ready to learn.

Tim and his team were great to work with. I explained what we were looking for as a family and he was careful to match our needs. He prioritized making a good match between our future companion and our family, it never felt like a transaction. Our dogs trainer was out of town when we visited and chose Buzz. So Tim taught us the basics and encouraged us to come back and “run” him when his trainer was available. We did and it was an extremely valuable experience. For people who don’t have the time or energy to raise/train a puppy, IPL’s started or finished dogs are an incredible value. We’d highly recommend IPL because of our experience and the way they treat they’re dogs. They are incredible sport dogs but they also prioritize raising companions. Buzz is gentle and fun loving and an instant member of our family.

Tim was great to work with. We spoke with several breeders before deciding on IPL (to be fair to the other breeders, they were all great). He answered all of our questions (before and after putting a deposit down). When we picked up our puppy Tim and his vet tech spent around an hour with us talking about training, vet care, etc.

I recently went down with my dad to pick up his dog Ernie who had just completed a 8 week training course. Impressed is an understatement, the owner Tim was more than happy to go out in the field with us to demonstrate how much the dog learned and answer all of our questions and we asked many about when to apply pressure in a variety of situations as well as how to maintain his new progress. Icven sorry I cannot spell your name was the one to thank for Ernie’s progress as he did the training. My dad purchased Ernie from Iowa pointing labs and now after training he is a very handsome hard charging and well mannered 1 year out lab.

We could not be more pleased with the Grits/Dixie Black Lab puppy that we just brought home. Tim and the team were great in helping us the through the selection process. This is our third Lab and we are astonished at the intelligence as well as the loving nature of our new pup ,"Clancy". We would highly recommend IPLs for your next dog.

I purchased a black lab pup from IPL September of 2018. The process began the summer of 2018 when I contacted Tim. He asked several questions of me and then matched me with a litter that he thought would be a good fit for my family. Now that my dog is a little over a year old, I can say that everything Tim said has come 100% true. He told me what the temperament, size, ease of training, and etc would be. That has all been 100% accurate. Our lab has been a perfect fit four our family and lifestyle.

I highly highly recommend Iowa Pointing Labs if you are looking for one dog to do it all, pointing upland, retrieving waterfowl, hunt test, and house dog this is the place to go. I own a Griz x Sugar pup from the 1st litter (he is now 2 1/2yrs old) that I titled and use for upland and waterfowl hunting mostly on public land. These dogs are pure bird machines in the upland field with unbelievable nose, drive, and marking in the upland and waterfowl marsh. The Headstart program I highly recommend too which gives a phenomenal starting point for further training.

Picked my pup up at 10:00am on Aug 15, 2019 and ended up being at IPL for over an hour just talking with Tim and Wes about dogs and life. Family friends bought a dog from them in the winter and I’ve never met a more behaved and loving dog in my life (which is why I decided to look into IPL). After visiting their kennel for the first time and spending an hour or two just talking with the staff about pups and about life, I knew there was no one else I wanted to buy a pup from. They have an amazing vaccine routine that goes more in depth than the typical vet would. They just recently received new recognition so your dog will be dual registered. My British lab has yet to bark and has only wined a few times. He’s kennel trained, can sit and come on command, can retrieve, and is working on potty training (first day home has made him not interested in pottying haha). Every penny spent at IPL...

These people are the best! Wonderful, caring, and on this good earth to bring these wonderful dogs into the world. They made my experience an amazing one and I couldn’t be happier with my puppy. definitely would go to them again in the future! 5 seconds into being home my puppy was sitting and coming on command. he’s full of energy and loves everyone he meets. We picked up our little Abby 2 weeks ago and I have to say she is doing great! She sits on command, fetches very well and kennels. She is so confident around other dogs. She is also so friendly to everyone who stops by. She has a very good eye on the birds in our yard and you can tell she will be a great hunter!
