We are seniors ( mid seventies ) who contracted a company to move us from Texas to New York in order to be closer to our children. We didn’t know much about moving companies and the mover was a broker who assigned us to Condor Moving Systems. In spite of a meticulous inventory list , when Condor arrived , they informed us that our inventory list didn’t matter , that square footage of the load did We were charged another several thousand. We had no choice but to pay it. We didn’t get a final amount until the truck was loaded. As bad as this experience was , the communication in transit was spotty at best. At no point , we’re we ever able to find out where our furniture was. When it finally arrived , we were charged additional for storage that was a result of no communication. Awful and unprofessional! Mover came and before he touched anything stated it was going to be DOUBLE what I was quoted. I asked him how if the items I brought were in a uhaul smaller than 500sq ft, packed myself, and still had room left and I downsized more than that!! He said 500 sq ft in his truck was different than 500 sq ft in a different truck? Mover then stated that he needed to repack some of my boxes, which I told him not to worry-just to take the ones he didn’t need to repack-he TOOK NOTHING; none of the totes that were packed perfectly, none of the TVs that were INCLUDED in my move, not even my child’s mattress!!! When asked why he wasn’t utilizing the space that was remaining with those items, he said that he didn’t have any more room on his truck and left!! I have used Condor Moving Systems many times, which for a start goes to show they do a great job. The men are always polite, ask if not sure about where you want items, and are very good packers of fragile as well as large items. They are patient when you change your mind (I didn’t do this much but it’s inevitable with big moves,) and worked really hard to get everything done in the time frame. The fact that it was a small move did not seem to matter to them at all they were very polite and helped me a bunch. I was able to move my items across town with ease.
