Amazing experience! Very effective way of learning, fun, interactive and you learn without the textbooks and the best thing is that you study with people from ALL OVER THE WORLD. After the Hebrew course I could speak perfect Hebrew just like a local. 😄

I love Tel Aviv! I love Israel! I love the Israeli way of life! And I adore Citizen Café! What an amazing fun way to learn and have friends from all over the world! The Zoom classes are a great way to stay connected and the teachers are just incredible!!

Studying with Citizen Cafe has helped me grow my vocabulary of useful Hebrew and has also helped me gain the confidence to begin speaking in Hebrew. I have a hectic schedule during the day, and they offer classes that fit into my busy days. They offer different intensities to suit your needs. For example, I want less intensity and more speaking practice so I am taking a once a week speaking course as apposed to a twice a week intensive course. Even during the Coronavirus pandemic I have been able to continue learning and expanding my Hebrew with them. On top of all that, the teachers have been beyond expectations. They are patient and knowledgeable and set up a fun and pressure free learning environment. They also make themselves available to you if you need help, even after the end of a semester. My experience at Citizen Cafe has been incredible, I really cannot say enough good things.

I had had the opportunity to study at a few Ulpans and Private tutors over the years and honestly, Citizen Cafe is in a league of their own.
I love their teaching methods. Their Speak-Up class is "GENIUS" Their teachers know what is useful and you become familar with words you hear daily from the first class.
Both their regular and speakup class has built my confidence level to speak up "in Hebrew" when hanging with my friends or running errands.
By the way, I am only a little over a month in this course, and I have seen real results. My friends have seen it, and my only regret was not finding them sooner.
I happy the offer classes online and onsite to fit our individual needs.
I recommended a friend that had taken a beginner course elsewhere and I have seen his growth as well and he is very happy with the pace and class size.

I've been to several Ulpans and Citizen Cafe is the very best. The teaching method is varied and accomplishes a great deal very quickly. The teachers are uniformly excellent. They include informal and slang expressions in the course content which makes speaking outside of class more useful and more fun . They offer a number of class options in terms of class times and class levels so scheduling is always convenient. And they offer extra opportunities for connecting and practicing which is a terrific opportunity for new olim to meet others.

Citizen Cafe TLV is the language school which I was looking for. I am absolutely satisfied, and they really exceeded my expectations! They found their unique efficient method! It is perfectly balanced with oral practice, grammar knowledge, and cultural immersion aspects! The teaching quality is very high. It works for me perfectly well!

I tried a few other Ulpan before, this is by far the best! The classes are fun online and in person as well. We only learn words that real Israelis speak :)

This is the best place to be if you want to have a great program with dedicated teachers who know how to use and explain this crazy language. The woman who made this program, Efrat, is not only fully dedicated but also really passionate about hebrew. They also do stuff about the Israeli culture, but I guess that’s something you have to dive into instead of being taught. I highly recommend this company.

Absolutely loved my time at Citizen Cafe. My Hebrew increased several levels, and the teachers are really good. Best ulpan I've been to. Highly recommend. Plus its pretty fun.

I've taken several Ulpans and can confidently say that Citizen Cafe is the most effective program I've experienced. The instructors maintain the perfect balance of being so much fun and professional at the same time. They emphasize speaking like a real Israeli--not like your Saba from the 1950s. After arriving in Israel for a year-long university programme in Tel Aviv, I told a friend I wanted to learn some Hebrew to make life easier and more enjoyable. Without hesitation, she referred me to Citizen Cafe TLV. After inquiring and sorting out schedule problems, I began my Hebrew learning experience with Citizen Cafe. As I now approach the end of my 4th course with them over the past 5 months, I highly recommend it. Classes are very interactive and keep you on your toes from beginning to end making it very engaging.
As a student of 2 other foreign languages and an occasional instructor of one, I find the method very conducive to developing the "Hebrew intuition" to thrive in real life situations. Amazing teachers and ingenious pedagogy -- the instructors keep the classes upbeat and energetic and rewarding. Hah, I sound like I'm describing an exercise class, but really, Citizen Cafe feels like the language-learning equivalent of having a personal trainer who makes going to the gym feel fun and motivating. It's unlike any language class I've had. I'm in my 3rd semester now, and the instructors make it easy to look forward to the fun classes (in person or on zoom), with classmates who I've gotten to know and a style of teaching that combines precision and humor. Learning Hebrew at Citizen Cafe is so much fun! I had three different teachers and they were all excellent. But what I appreciate most is their teaching method: it is modern, innovative, fun, and extremely effective - it helped me gain enough self-confidence to actually start speaking Hebrew...

I feel too lucky to have the change to learn Hebrew in a place like Citizen Cafe ! It's like coming to meet friends, have fun, and as a side benefit, you learn Hebrew!! They have really a great system to teach, I'm surprised how fast I started understanding and talking.. They teach exactly what you need, so you feel confident to contribute daily life.. My biggest improvements were increased vocabulary knowledge and learning most of the daily phrases in a very short period. Plus, they are very flexible and helpful with the time schedule and they can really create a custom made program (private lessons or classes) fits for almost every individual.. You can not "not learn" Hebrew here! Best place to learn Hebrew.

After studying at a few ulpans and learning with a lot of teachers, it's easy for me to say that Citizen Cafe is by far the leader in Hebrew teaching and it's where I gained all my confidence to really speak! (and quite fast I must admit :)) The class vibes are full of energy and fun, the teachers are inspired, and I've done both on campus and online classes. I'm so in love with this place that I even eventually started working with them! I couldn't recommend them more!

Here is why I love Citizen Cafe:
1.Times are super convenient if you have a full-time job
2. Classes are a perfect amount of time - your brain is not fried, yet you've learned a lot
3. Class sizes are small and you get plenty of chances to speak and practice
5. Students and teachers are amazing, in person and over zoom, classes are always fun
6. It's more than an Ulpan, you learn the language, but also slang and culture (and you get to impress your colleagues the next day)
7. It feels very personal and like family :) and comes with a facebook community!
8. No textbooks! You learn a language without feeling like you're back in school
Been at Citizen Cafe for a year now, and would not choose any other Ulpan!

I already did 3 courses in Citizen Cafe. What i can say is that my understanding of spoken Hebrew improved A LOT, and also i can express myself in Hebrew and ask for things in the shop/bank/at the doctor etc, watch movies in Hebrew. Also I understand written language better, which is helpful since many websites are only in Hebrew. Or for example posts on social media (for example when you are looking for an apartment). And i wont even mention how important it is to understand the language in order to feel better in your everyday life, and not feel like a tourist after years of living here. The course is really well organized and keeps you engaged all the time. Well done to all the teachers, they do great job!
