I absolutely love Citizen Cafe Hebrew classes! Their unique learning technique plus enormous positive energy from the teachers help me to learn Hebrew basics at unbelievable speed. I was honestly not always doing my homework, and I still remember and use! everything we learnt. Moreover, I love that Citizen Cafe teachers are teaching words and phrases I could use every day even at my super beginner level - thanks to them I feel confident ordering coffee and food at Jewish delis, engaging in basic chit chat, and I really enjoy being able to tell a few words in Hebrew to native Hebrew speakers, which helps our communication and trust and better connect. Btw, their texting course in Hebrew - is super cool! It makes learning my Hebrew and texting and learning words even easier! That’s the best place to learn Hebrew at speed, filled with good vibes!

I've been studying with Citizen Cafe via zoom for almost a year. I've made more progress in becoming a Hebrew speaker in this time than I thought possible. It was great to be in Israel and understand some of the signs on the street and some of the discussion between my son and daughter-in-law. The teachers have wonderful positive energy and it's been wonderful to meet others who have a commitment to Israel.

I’ve been learning Hebrew for years. First, as a kid in school, and now as an adult through various on line courses. You name them; I’ve tried them. The absolute BEST of them all is Citizen Cafe. Their systemaric teaching method is the most effective. When I finish their 20 week course, I yearn for the next semester. Their teachers are young, enthusiastic, helpful and they come from all walks of life. They are fun to be with and they are fun to learn with. At this stage, thanks to Citizen Cafe, I am so confident with my speaking, reading, listening, writing and comprehension skills that I feel totally ready for my upcoming trip to Israel. (My Israeli family and friends are amazed at how much I have progressed.)

Citizen Cafe Tel Aviv is awesome! In just one semester, I have learned so much Hebrew and gained confidence in my language skills. My teacher is so patient and makes class a safe, fun, and engaging environment! The bonus - Citizen Cafe becomes a community - my group has bonded, the support is stellar, and the practice groups are great. I can't wait for my second semester to start!

I always wanted to learn Hebrew but never had the time until I retired. I'm current at the sixth of twelve levels and I am enjoying the Citizens Cafe experience immensely. The teachers are great and it is so much fun to develop relationships with my classmates who are located all over the world. Learning new things constantly is important to a fulfilled and balanced life. The Hebrew language is the key to the soul of the Jewish people and culture of modern Israel. What better way to spend some of your time learning and growing.

I'm just blown away by this company and it's technique for teaching the Hebrew language. Right from the start the process was flawless. From getting assessed to the correct level to the sales process, this company gets full marks! The teachers are hand selected who have a love of the language and know exactly how to teach it too. Now about learning Hebrew ... well I had learned a bit from school and then had some private lessons and all but gave up hope of ever learning this language. Luckily I came across Citizen Cafe and the rest is now history. I am certainly well on my way to being able to pick up this language in a great, fun environment where you don't even realise that you are learning. Keep up the unbelievable work you do guys!

This is going to be a different type of review... I joined Citizens Cafe and lasted exactly ONE class... Without boring you, I was not going to be able to keep up and give the dedication and effort into learning Hebrew with them... I just wanted to give anyone considering taking the class my experience with joining Citizens Cafe to quitting Citizens Cafe..

The enrollment process was fun and easy. You took a "mini" class to see where to place you, you then talk to an enrollment counselor and go over the options and see what fits best for you.

After picking a start date, you get a number of emails describing the upcoming semester and what you need to prepare ahead of time. Then the first day of class. The teacher was AMAZING! She was energetic and patient and was without a doubt a PROFESSIONAL teacher. The class was 90 minutes and you covered a lot of...

Citizen Cafe is so many things! I began my 5th class in July. It has been an amazing experience and I highly recommend. It is challenging, fun, rewarding! It allowed me during COVID to continue to socialize with people from all over the world with so many similarities to myself . Love all my fellow students. Everyone is so into learning and helping each other. The staff in all aspects are beyond amazing. The teachers are all fabulous. The amount I have learned in the past two years is astounding to me. I am Looking forward to my next class! and visiting CC in person this October.

I'm delighted to leave a review about my experience learning Hebrew at Citizen Cafe. I'm in my 3rd semester of learning and find the classes super fun, challenging and highly rewarding. As great as it is to learn and get to know people from all over the world, it is extraordinary to be taught by a master teacher who engages, and pushes me outside my comfort zone. The method of teaching here is unique. I initially questioned the method as I am more of a visual learner but in time, when you trust this method, it is highly effective. Thank you Citizen Cafe for providing the highest level of Hebrew education I have ever known.

I started with Citizen Cafe in October 2020 and I cannot believe it’s coming up on 3 years of consistently learning Hebrew. I have learned so much in this short time, but almost as importantly, have had fun doing it and made great friends along the way. And while of course I still have a long way to go, I now have the confidence to carry on a full conversation in Hebrew. I can ask for directions, converse with a taxi driver, order in a restaurant, haggle in the shuk. Citizen Cafe Tel Aviv uses a wonderful unique approach to learning modern Hebrew, and I will be forever grateful for having discovered this amazing community.

Citizen cafe is wonderful. I'm having a great time and everyone is so impressed with my progress in Hebrew fluency.
All the teachers are well trained and what's best, is they teach you things that you actually need to know. Things that come up in daily conversations. So I get to use what I've learned, which in turn allows me to actually remember what I've learned over long periods of time.
I highly recommend anyone who is struggling to bring their Hebrew to the next level so try a course with them.

Hands down the best Ulpan out there. They offer a unique teaching style that simply works and is relevant to hebrew actually spoken by Israelis. The teachers are engaging and fun, the company is attentive and relevant, and it’s incredible how far you can progress conversationally with their method. I am an international languages teacher (30 years experience) and can affirm that Citizen Cafe is an amazing place for real, useful Hebrew learning. Teachers are young, energetic, charismatic, intelligent and engaging! Students have access to "labs" that provide contexts for practice. While at university one can be exposed to excellent content, at Citizen Cafe we learn to make Hebrew our own. I did 6 levels with Citizen Cafe (starting with virtually no Hebrew speaking background). Now I am proud to say that I am conversational in Hebrew. Their methods works and the focus on conversational Hebrew (not the academic Hebrew you learn in a university class). They goal is for you to get around the streets of Israel, by knowing common phrases, essential words, and also slang. The teachers are all amazing and go above and beyond to help you. Classes are with students from around the world, which is great as you start making friends in different countries.

I stared Citizen Cafe during the lockdowns to dust off my rusty Hebrew from the early 1970s and give myself a cerebral challenge. My spoken Hebrew was pretty good but my reading and writing were atrocious. Started in aqua or turquoise (can’t remember what it was called) and graduated to Purple after a few semesters. I’ve continued to improve. Spent the last 2 winters in Israel and was able to go to the theater, movies, without subtitles etc. Citizen Cafe is worth every shekel. All of my teachers have been stellar. The methods used make learning fun. The other students vary in age and geographical location. I wholeheartedly recommend Citizen Cafe at any level.

It is so addictive that you just don't want to quit. I loved it from the first lesson onwards!!!
