Citizen cafe is a great place to learn Hebrew and make new friends in the process. They are professional without being judgmental. Mistakes are welcome and encouraged to help you learn. The teachers are outstanding, patient and really caring.

Citizen Cafe is so much more than a language school...It’s an entree into modern Israeli society and the distinct Tel Aviv vibe. No one participating is made to feel self conscious. We progress naturally. The class time flies by. It becomes a weekly highlight. The teacher directs the flow and provides encouragement and insights. And along the way, we get to know our fellow students - a real bonus. The class profile is diverse in every way, but we all share a desire to improve, and a love for Ivrit and for Israeli culture.
Citizen Cafe is really gets this space.

I am just toward the end of my first semester and I can not believe how much I have learned and more importantly retained.My teacher Michal is amazing and incredibly patient. The classes are fun and I have started teachng my grandchildren what I've learned. I can already have short conversations. I am so grateful to Citizen's Cafe.

(My one complaint: I do wish you would help people with accents, and encourage people to at least TRY to speak like an Israeli-born. Yes there are many cultures in Israel, so pick the accent you want to teach and teach it. Just not Hebrish. It is very annoying to go to a practice session where every one is speaking Hebrish, so you don't get to hear how the language should sound.)

I'm really enjoying my course: well-structured and fun, lots of opportunities to practise and use new pieces of language. Out teacher, Saar, is great - really encouraging and patient, keeping up a good pace and engaging the whole group. And the 'extras' - Quizlet for practising new words and structures, practice groups, Google Docs - are also very well thought out and work as a whole to support our learning. Wonderful!
