I can not say enough wonderful things about The Goddard School! When we first enrolled our 3 year old son, he was incredibly shy and reserved. At his previous daycare, our son would cry as soon as we turned into the parking lot, so naturally I worried about how he would adjust to a new environment and make friends.
A huge thank you to the staff and teachers, our son has absolutely blossomed. The genuine care and patience shown by Ms. Destiny and Ms. Hannah in particular have made all the difference. They have created a space where he feels safe and loved enough to come out of his shell, and the gains we've seen in him are just incredible. In fact, he loves his new school so much he is excited to go and runs into the classroom every morning.

Drop off at his previous daycare was a nightmare, as he went in daily crying and looked so unhappy at pick up. I was truly worried about how he would adjust to a new environment and make friends.

But thanks to the teachers, he has absolutely blossomed. The genuine care and patience shown by Ms. Destiny and Ms. Hannah in particular have made all the difference. They created a space where he felt safe enough to come out of his shell, and the gains we've seen in him are just incredible. I absolutely love Ms. Gabby and Ms. Jennifer in the Pre-K classroom! They have created such a caring, fun, and structured environment where my daughter, Harbor, truly thrives. Every day she comes home excited to share what she learned and always talks about how much she loves her teachers. Their patience, creativity, and kindness shine through in everything they do, and it gives me so much peace of mind knowing Harbor is in such wonderful hands. We are so grateful for both of them!

Our 9-month-old son is in the Infant 2 class at The Goddard School of Alexandria, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. His lead teachers, Ms. Maribel and Ms. Charia, are both wonderful — they are patient, caring, and attentive to every detail.

As parents, it’s such a relief to know that our son is not only well cared for but also loved and nurtured every day. We’ve seen him grow, learn, and thrive in their classroom. The teachers create a safe, warm environment, and they truly treat the children as if they were their own.

Beyond the classroom, the overall quality of the teachers and staff at The Goddard School is outstanding. Everyone we’ve interacted with is professional, kind, and committed to giving the children the best possible care and education.

It is a good place for kids. We like warm and welcom personnel. They always greet each and every kid with their names. It seems like they know everyone. This immediately creates a very welcoming atmosphere. They have nice clean classes, a big room for gross motor activities and big outdoor shadowed playgrounds. My daughter is in class with Miss Saraih and Ms. Valerie. They are kind and know how to do fun for kids, which is very important for the three years old. They learning and playing activities look impressive. My daugher is still feeling hard when I leave her, but she looks absolutely happy in the class, when I pick her up. One more plus is that the administrative personnel in the morning helps to warm up kids in the classes where "additional love is needed" it is nice and it proves that the school cares.

Ms. Valerie & Ms. Saraih are great! They are my sons teacher and they are patient with helping him transition to preschool. I love watching what my
Son does during the day in the app and seeing all the pictures of his activities.

We are a new family of the Goddard Alx (West). Thus far our kiddos and family are really enjoying our experience! This school has some amazing staff and teachers. What we really appreciate is the that someone is always in the office to answer any administrative question. Ms. Traleece and Mrs. Andrea make you feel welcome and secure when you enter into the school.

Preschool Teachers, Ms. Lindsey and Ms. Shawntria are an amazing duo! They ensure we have pics, constant communication and ability to capture the “Big Moments” that happen while under their watch. Ms. Lindsey goes above and beyond to meet my child where they are emotionally, educationally and physically. I have a Dancer that is very STEAM focused! Ms. Lindsey challenges them to be independent. Ms. Shawntria creates a space of love and care. We love this team!

We enrolled in the infant 1 class with Ms. Michelle and Ms. Davon. Communication has been excellent and our baby appears to have enjoyed his class so far.

My daughter attended this school for 3 years and she loved every moment of it! The teachers are amazing and we love them so so much!

I was invited as a special guest to perform my bubble show for the school, The director Sarah and the entire staff were so kind, friendly and welcoming. The kids were highly enthusiastic about the show and had such a positive attitude. They were eager and curious to learn and participated in the show. Thank you so much for having me as a special guest I highly recommend.

All four of our kids have been part of this program, and we could not have asked for a better experience. The teachers were always so kind and caring, and we felt like our children were truly learning and growing instead of just being in a daycare setting.

As a military family, we appreciated that the school accepts Child Care Aware, which was such a big help. We were looking forward to moving over to the new Goddard Kingstowne location, but we had to PCS. We truly miss this school and are so thankful for the love and care our kids received.

Thank you to the wonderful staff for having our food truck visit this summer. The kids were so excited to receive their treats. The staff was very attentive and intentional in reminding all the kids to say please and thank you. Such a great summer program that pours back into each camper.

My son attended Goddard shortly after they first opened. His teacher was great and she moved on to another position to help work on the curriculum. The room for my son was kind of small , but they have a great multipurpose room that is of great use on rainy days. My son’s classroom also felt a bit warm. All of the kids were very friendly. The facility has also two fenced playgrounds. I’m not sure what will happen to the facility in the future. The building was owned by ASCD and now it’s owned by ACPS. I believe Goddard’s lease is for like 15 years but that was a contractual agreement with ASCD, not ACPS.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at The Goddard School for our 16-month-old son! His teachers Ms. Sasha, Ms. Marleny, and Ms. Katherine are incredibly caring, attentive, and genuinely love the kids. From the moment we drop him off, we feel confident he’s in a safe and nurturing environment. He has grown so much in just a few months, and they have helped him learn how to walk and strengthen his communication skills. The teachers do so many activities with the kids, and we love seeing the photos and updates throughout the day.

I like that the owner is involved with the school, which makes a difference in the quality. Other preschools I considered, particularly the corporate-run daycares, seem to have a lot of turnover vs The Goddard School. I highly recommend this childcare program!

I feel incredibly grateful to have Ms. Mary Bolton as my child’s Pre-K II teacher. From the very first day, she created a warm, nurturing, and joyful environment where my child felt safe, seen, and excited to learn. Her patience, creativity, and genuine love for her students shine through in everything she does—whether it's story time, messy crafts, or teaching the ABCs. My son loves her and talks about her everyday. I am genuinely comfortable having my child in the care of Ms. Mary and I am glad that I chose The Goddard School.

Our journey with The Goddard School began when our son started in the Infant room at just 10 weeks old. From day one, every teacher has been kind, attentive, and truly invested in the well-being of the children. Their support through each transition has been invaluable, always keeping open communication.
Now, nearly three years later, we continue to love our daycare experience. The teachers are incredibly patient, creative, and always coming up with fun activities that keep our little one engaged. Every day after school, he excitedly asks to see “pictures at school” and talks nonstop about his friends and teachers.
A special thank you to all the teachers especially for Ms. Kaelyn and Ms. Brittany, who make each day a learning adventure and have played such an important role in helping our son grow.

We’ve been part of this school for almost four years now, and it’s truly felt like a second home for our family. Our daughter got the best possible start in Pre-K with Ms. Mary. She’s one of those rare teachers who’s not only kind and loving but also genuinely connected to her students. Even now, in kindergarten, our daughter still lights up when she sees her, and Ms. Mary always takes a moment to say hello. That kind of connection doesn’t fade—it shows just how special she is.
With our son now at the school, we’ve felt that same care from so many others. Ms. Lindsey and Ms. Shawntria have been incredibly patient and supportive, especially when he had a tough time settling in. And Ms. Andrea, the school director, has been amazing—she’s built such a warm, understanding space where we always feel seen and supported.

I am absolutely thrilled with the care and education my children receive at The Goddard School Alexandria West! My kids have thrived in their nurturing and stimulating environments.

Goddard has the BEST teachers. My grandson, Matthew Demus, loves Ms Lizette. He picked shells for her during our vacation and she makes his day so special--EVERY day.

Our experience with Goddard has been nothing short of phenomenal. It has been amazing to see our child’s development grow exponentially since the end of the pandemic to now. Thanks to the nurturing environment, staff, and teachers like Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Gabby, we feel so blessed to have an extended family at Goddard Alexandria-West.
