I have home schooled Ashley, my granddaughter, all of her life and realized early that she had a reading problem. We worked on a program for dyslexia and she was progressing. She started feeling like she was being babied because she couldn't read like other kids and I was trying to give her easy work. By the 7th grade she was becoming a behavior problem and would come in the morning with a big chip on her shoulder and was very hard to deal with. I finally told her mother that I couldn't do it anymore. It broke my heart because I knew that public school wasn't what she needed, but we didn't know what to do.
