I purchased a new home built by Blackrock in February 2024. I had been searching several years for a home that checked all the boxes. The price as well as the quality and the floor plan provided exactly what I was in search of. The Blackrock staff as well as the listing agent, Kami, were extremely helpful from the first time I visited the subdivision, during escrow, as well as after closing. Quality is terrible. My roof leaked for four years. They came out every year. Finally WE paid for a new rain gutter for what we were telling them the problem was. It didn’t feel like they wanted to warranty the house at all.

They only installed a few windows , that actually open , to save on costs. Baseboards missing framing around windows non existent. Carpet is low quality even though they sell it as “high end”. They definitely sell tract homes. Inspect your home throughly. The air conditioner isn’t big enough to cool the upstairs. All homes in our neighborhood have had to have air conditioning upgrades. I initially posted a five-star review for Black Rock Homes, delighted at the prospect of purchasing what I believed to be my dream home. Unfortunately, my experience with Black Rock Homes in Meridian, Idaho, turned out to be both distressing and disappointing, highlighting significant issues with their customer service and business practices.

On July 14, 2024, I discovered that a large RV structure was being built behind the home I was intending to purchase, contrary to what I had been informed—that there would only be a one-story building behind the property. Upon noticing this, I immediately contacted a Black Rock Homes representative who assured me she would look into the matter.

I would never buy another home from this builder. I bought a home in Movado and love the location, however, within the first year of living there I utilized my warranty to fix repairs on the home almost weekly. The home is cheaply built with hardly any quality control. The tape on the sides of the walls have come off (see pic) and it’s only been 1 year living there. The mudding has come off the walls, there are ventilation issues in the bathroom, all the fans make noise, there are electrical issues and the contractor, and his subs couldn’t figure out what was wrong g with the electrical outlets and fans. Had the fans replaced twice and still having issues. I’m selling this place as soon as I can. The caulking on the walls and baseboards has come off and the whole home squeaks even though we had the carpet pulled back and spots fixed.

They came highly recommended to me by my realtor who has been in the Treasure Valley market for 50 years, so I felt confident in their product.
