Beginnings Learning Center

My son started at Beginnings Learning Center at just 26 months. I thought he was way too young to go to pre-school, especially after being home with a nanny the first two years of his life. But he immediately took to his Blue Room teachers (Ms Rosie and Ms Cynthia) and the kids. He is now in the Yellow Room and still loving it. The school is very accommodating to working parents - early drop off and later pickup than most in the area. They keep the kids active outdoors which I love (it’s LA afterall) and when they’re indoors they craft and get really creative. Overall it’s been a very positive experience so far.

Our two-year old just started at BLC in April and we are already so incredibly grateful to have him there. The staff makes it a point to get to know each of the kids and the parents as well, which is really comforting and makes for a welcoming community. The teachers are genuinely caring and wonderful people who are fully invested in the development of each child. The space itself is beautiful, secure, organized, and clean with lots of natural light in each classroom and a fantastic shaded play structure outside. There’s also a sandbox full of toys as well as lots of bikes, trikes, cars, etc. for the kids to ride around. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included and the menus are posted monthly. Beginnings has been the best choice! My older son started when he was 2 and will graduate next year. He loves attending BLC and seeing his teachers and friends every day. My younger son just started in the Blue room and loves it as well. The teachers are all so lovely - very attentive and loving, yet firm and focused on teaching the kids how to accomplish things on their own. They really instill a pride in learning. The kids get a good balance of classroom activity and playtime. As a working mother, I love the longer hours, but also that my kids aren't the only ones there at pick-up time. BLC has provided us with a wonderful community of families and teachers that care about all of the kids.

We've been extremely happy with the care and attention our daughter receives at Beginnings. The teachers are all kind yet firm, and I've been impressed with their knowledge of early childhood development. Since our daughter started there a few months ago we've noticed her communication skills growing at a rapid rate, and whenever we ask her about her day at school, the first word she says is always "Fun!" And in addition, the flexible hours and school-provided meals and snacks make things easy on mom and dad. I would recommend this preschool to anyone.

Beginnings has been the best choice we have made for both our daughters who currently attend the school. The teachers are knowledgeable, nurturing, and creative. I am blown away in seeing the growth and development in both of my girls in a short span of time; Their abilities in communicating better, their level of independence, and most importantly, their love for coming to school every day. The classrooms always reflect the learning that happens every day and the environment is always so organized and well-maintained. Something just felt right about this school from the very beginning, and we couldn't be more pleased in finding this gem of a school in Santa Monica.

My older son was at this preschool between the years of 2011-2013 and when I got pregnant with my little one- I knew that Beginnings was the only choice for me!
Blc is home for us! It's is an extremely nurturing environment with our children as their first priority!
My younger son started this past August and almost immediately formed a very deep bond with the blue room teachers! I feel very comfortable leaving him there and know that he will be nothing but happy when I return later in the day!!!!

BLC is a great preschool with great staff member! The school is very clean and has a very modern look. It also has a safe environment indoors and outdoors for children to play and develop! I have been working at beginnings for 2 years and love the curriculum and the school! When I have children I would love to bring them to BLC!!
