I have a child with Down Syndrome. She is 11 and very high functioning. She needs no special help other than making sure she gets herself clean after going potty. I was told by a person at this facility that they have 40 to 50 kids with 3 workers, so it would be hard to pay attention to a child in the bathroom. Also, they can only verbally encourage, because of state rules and other parents maybe seeing a worker helping a child and making accusations. When I asked if they just don't take special needs kids, because this is a common thing they need help with, she said they didn't take special needs it just that they have different needs, not bathroom needs. How is it within state rules to have 50 kids with 3 workers? I would not put my standard developing kids here.
