Wonder Dog Training

After contacting several dog trainers in the area who disappointingly did not return my calls, I found Jennifer LaBar by google search engine and she very promptly returned my call the same day. Before contacting Jen, I researched her "Wonder Dog" website and knew right away from what I saw there and then following our phone conversation, that I had found the right trainer for our new puppy. Jen is simply a fantastic trainer and I cannot say enough great things about her. She is the consummate professional, possesses a wealth of experience, knowledge and common sense, and is kind, gentle, intuitive and extremely effective with her training approach, tailoring it to the specific personality, needs and temperament of the dog. I am SO happy we found Jen with Wonder Dog! She is very knowledgeable, caring, and experienced. With her guidance, we adopted the best rescue dog for our family. She did several puppy training sessions and then gave us the tools to continue training on our own. Also, she gave us lots of handouts on nutrition, training, and other recommendations, such as the best places to get dog supplies. Jen was great to work with! Her in-home training sessions allowed us to customize training to focus on issues we were having with our puppy (Maddy) at home. Jen has a good understanding of dog behavior which she taught us so we could be more successful in communicating with Maddy. Maddy is going to be a large dog and was significantly pulling on the leash. With Jen's help Maddy now walks besides us. We are glad we had Jen's help and would recommend her to anyone looking for training for their dog.

We like to call Jen the dog whisperer. In 2004, we had just received a 3 year old Westie from a friend. We didn't know at the time that the dog had not received much basic training or was house broken. We had never used a dog trainer before. When Jen arrived at our home the first time she had the immediate attention of the dog. Basically, she trained us to communicate with the dog. After four meetings the dog was obeying commands, performing tricks and was completely house trained. Our Westie is now 14 years old and still responding to the positive training she received from Jen. It was a wonderful learning experience and we have stayed friends all these years. We highly recommend Jen for any behavior problems you may have with your four legged family member.

Jen is a wonderful trainer! I needed her help for everything from basic training through behavior modification...and boy did she ever come through for me! My dog has fear aggression and I was so worried that he would never be comfortable around other people. Jen was able to come up with a solution that worked for my dog's unique problem and now we can have male and female guests over whenever we like! She uses positive reinforcement techniques to train dogs and I really like her values regarding training. She sits down with you and really helps you to understand your dog and dogs in general. She provides reading materials, websites, and other resources to really further your education so that you can work with your dog confidently. I'm so appreciative for everything that Jen has done for my family!
