Wonder Dog Training

We are finishing our last group training course with Wonder Dog Training in Vista this week. We were fortunate to have Ariel Santa Maria as our trainer and she is amazing. Ariel has a wealth of knowledge on dog behavior and has shared great information during the class. She is very good at explaining how to train our dog & why we should train our dog in a certain way. She is very patient and our dog loves Ariel. Her class is well structured and our dog has done quite well with his training. Our training for our two dogs was EXCELLENT! With Wendy's (Wonder Dog) assistance, we now have greater ability to positively and effectively curb the behaviors that led us to seek additional help in the first place. The excessive barking and darting out the front door have been curtailed. Our family has benefitted from the enhanced behavior we now see in our dogs as well.

We were also very pleased with how flexible scheduling was as we also have two elementary school children and their schedules with which to contend. Wendy was amazing at helping us train our puppy! She was very nice, helping, and loving to our new family member. Now our puppy , who isn't really a puppy anymore, is such a well trained, good mannered dog. We are often complimented on our dogs behavior and how well she listens. Sonja Baker from Wonder Dog was a perfect match for my newly acquired five-year-old Poodle mix. After contacting several dog trainers in the area who disappointingly did not return my calls, I found Jennifer LaBar by google search engine and she very promptly returned my call the same day. Before contacting Jen, I researched her "Wonder Dog" website and knew right away from what I saw there and then following our phone conversation, that I had found the right trainer for our new puppy. I am SO happy we found Jen with Wonder Dog! She is very knowledgeable, caring, and experienced. With her guidance, we adopted the best rescue dog for our family. Jen was great to work with! Her in-home training sessions allowed us to customize training to focus on issues we were having with our puppy (Maddy) at home. Jen has a good understanding of dog behavior which she taught us so we could be more successful in communicating with Maddy. Maddy is going to be a large dog and was significantly pulling on the leash. With Jen's help Maddy now walks besides us. We like to call Jen the dog whisperer. In 2004, we had just received a 3 year old Westie from a friend. We didn't know at the time that the dog had not received much basic training or was house broken. We had never used a dog trainer before. When Jen arrived at our home the first time she had the immediate attention of the dog. Basically, she trained us to communicate with the dog. After four meetings the dog was obeying commands, performing tricks and was completely house trained. Our Westie is now 14 years old and still responding to the positive training she received from Jen. It was a wonderful learning experience and we have stayed friends all these years. Jen is a wonderful trainer! I needed her help for everything from basic training through behavior modification...and boy did she ever come through for me! My dog has fear aggression and I was so worried that he would never be comfortable around other people. Jen was able to come up with a solution that worked for my dog's unique problem and now we can have male and female guests over whenever we like! She uses positive reinforcement techniques to train dogs and I really like her values regarding training. She sits down with you and really helps you to understand your dog and dogs in general. She provides reading materials, websites, and other resources to really further your education so that you can work with your dog confidently.
