Virgin Island Sailing

We recently came BACK to the BVIs after a number of years hiatus (10!). We had previously chartered through the Moorings and had a good experience, but a friend who had spent a great deal of time in the BVIs recommended Melody Delgado from VI Sailing & Seven Seas who steered us to BVI Yacht Charters, a smaller operation virtually "next door":

Her knowledge of the many alternatives around Tortola was outstanding, and her ability to work through the many detailed questions of my Chief Logistics Officer and Galley Chef (more on this in a minute) was amazing. Heidi is detail oriented and Melody was able to help with everything from swim toys, the best ferry to take, as well as provisioning the boat both with outside assistance and by ourselves. In the end we selected Amethyst from BVI Yacht Charters and couldn't be happier with our choice.

Virgin Island Sailing and their web site site was a big help for me and I will certainly use them and Jo-Ann again for my next charter.They made my trip a breeze to plan and it was great to have someone to call or message if I had any problems. We were absolutely thrilled with the service and advice we received for our trip to BVI. It was a great week, on a fantastic Lagoon 450. We wanted that specific boat and couldn't find one in BVI for the week we wanted. Then we found Melody and she was able to locate and reserve one in the same day. Hooray!

She also helped with developing our itinerary and lots of questions along the way. We had chartered before, but this was our first bareboat, other than local charters, so we needed guidance - and we got it.

When we decided to charter in the BVI's this year, I sent requests out to several companies and brokers...Melody from VI Sailing was quick to respond, dealt with all my questions promptly and professionally and won our loyalty for this and future trips. We booked a Sunsail catamaran and had an amazing week (full review at VISailing website). Upon arriving back at home, we contacted Melody to start planning for Belize 2015, and once again all information and quotes were sent immediately. Thanks VI Sailing for taking so much stress out of the charter experience.

VI Sailing got us 2 terrific monohulls in Puerto Rico and we had a wonderful 9 days sailing the Spanish Virgin Islands. Winds were great, daily sunny weather and lovely anchorages were what we found. These islands were rustic and 2 nights we had the cove to ourselves. The 40 foot jeanneaus had a great GPS system and were very easy to handle. All around we had a fabulous trip!
