Virgin Island Sailing

From start to finish it was a 5 star experience. The communication from the team at Virgin Island Sailing was good throughout the planning process through the entire 6 day trip in the BVI's. This is my second trip through Virgin Island Sailing over a 10 year period and will definitely use them again. The boat Alora was better than we expected. Comfortable with a group of 6 adults. Plenty of space to visit as a group and also lots of space to just hang out in groups of 2 or less. Never felt cramped or on top of one another. The crew on the Alora was by far our best experience of the entire week. Rorke and Paige communicated with us about a week prior to our departure and made sure our expectations would be met. Very friendly service and the boat was in great condition. Only issue was the generator. We had a service call and it worked fine then the last day it would only run for 10 seconds. Dinghy motor had issues on the last day. We reported theses. Office people were wonderful to get us parallel rules, harness and tethers- since gusts were up to and beyond 30k all week. But they need a better system for keeping track of requests for internet installation and for taxi reservations. It seemed that they didn’t have a written system for these. I asked multiple times about internet and it wasn’t ordered until the last minute. Also taxi I ordered didn’t come because apparently the call wasn’t made. Other charter companies keep a written list of these requests so they can check on and manage them. Tech Kevin was super. We were very happy with Virgin Island Sailing and our experience with Cara. The communication was very good as we were deciding on a charter and then preparing for our trip. Even though we had to switch boats the day before due to engine issues Everything went very smoothly and we had a great experience. Thank you!

Excellent time, however a crew member's appendix burst the first few hours on the boat while still at the marina, so he and his wife spent the week with in the Tortolla hospital - excellent care was given he reported though. Also the either couple got delayed in Miami for an extra day and arrived 24 hours later that expected so that was also a bummer. Traveling to Nanny Cay via St Thomas is very difficult. Next time I would pay the extra to fly directly into Tortolla Beef Island airport.

Excellent experience the whole way through! Everything was well organized, well thought out, and a wonderful experience from booking to planning to sailing. Highly recommend asking VIS about BSV when sailing in Belize. Our crew was amazing!

Very happy with Virgin Island Sailing and Cara. Our trip aboard Reach was amazing! Sarah and James could not have been better. Sarahs meals and presentation was over the top. James was a excellent captain. We always felt safe. James and Sarah worked together very well. It was a GREAT TRIP.
