VanDam and Krusinga Building and Restoration

I am delighted with everyone that I have worked with at VanDam & Krusinga! Service has been outstanding and the quality of workmanship has been high. We had a massive flood in our offices over a weekend when no one was here. The flooding occurred on an upper level and brought down ceilings and walls in the lower level of the office it was a true business disaster. One of the largest factors of us getting through this mess was the incredible work and support from multiple teams at VanDam & Krusinga. From the flood cleanup to rebuilding and seizing on this as an opportunity to upgrade our office VanDam & Krusinga was here for us. Chad and Tim (who we dealt with mostly) deserve the highest recognition for going above and beyond to provide us with incredible
service to complete the job in a timely manner. They were so pleasant to work with at all times. We were impressed they always answered their phones or returned our calls quickly reassuring us with all questions we had and keeping to our planned schedule, working around our needs. Tim and his partner even helped us shovel when we were snowed in during the extreme weather.
The painters (Steve) and drywaller were wonderful and very personable, as was Ken (?) who sanded our floors. They are beautiful!

I considered Jason to be my general contractor for the whole of my re-roofing project. His father had a crew build a new roof for my barn when the old one fell in during a heavy winter; I liked Dan's people, their work and how they stayed with the job until it was completed to my liking. So, because Dan had retired, I gave Jason a try. He oversaw this project, even when he was out of town. The roofers, Joe, Will and Dillon, were timely, respectful, and showed me every step of the process, especially satisfying my curiosity when I climbed on the roof to inspect the damage. It was apparent that the crew had been together for years, and I commend their teamwork. The roof looks professionally complete. As for the gutter guy, he has questionable social skills. While he also did a professional job ... and I did compliment him ... I suggest VD&K use him for real estate jobs, unrelated to...

We were very pleased with the excellent execution of the project. We strongly encourage you to continue using JD Balhaus Hardscaping as they did an EXCELLENT job! They kept the worksite clean and tidy during the two weeks of construction, and the end result is outstanding.

I do wish there had been more detail in the contract. There were a lot of details on the legal side, but not enough detail on the project itself. I had to ask Chad to included details like the length and height of the wall, the number and type of landscape lights, and so on.

Also, it would have been helpful to have had a detailed drawing of the proposed construction. I would have been able to catch that the 'random' block design I requested wasn't communicated to the landscaper. I don't think that is asking too much for a project of this magnitude ($23,000).
