Stepping Stones Academy

I love Stepping Stones Academy because the staff is the absolute best! They all treat us like family and I know my son is in excellent hands. I love the ease of communication through the Procare app and receiving pictures of my child throughout the day. I know what my child is doing throughout the day and have total peace of mind while I’m at work. Stepping Stones Academy in Waipahu has given my son the best first step at integrating into a classroom setting and his social skills have improved so much since enrollment. We can’t thank the staff enough for all they’ve done!

Stepping Stones has been the biggest blessing for our son and for our family. Our son has special needs and we were so scared to place him into any childcare. From our son's first day at the Academy, the whole staff cared for our son as if he was their own child. The care and love that was provided to him was such a blessing and a relief. From his temper tantrums, being a picky eater, always wanting to be held and never wanting to take a nap, the staff showed so much patients and compassion for him. Shout out to Mrs. Danielle, Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Ja'ce for loving our son like their own!

Our daughter joined the Junior Pre School class when she was 2.5 and has grown leaps and bounds in terms of her social, motor, and cognitive skills as well as independence due to the care provided and curriculum developed and followed by the educators at Stepping Stones. She has formed wonderful bonds with classmates and teachers and is excited to go to school everyday. I love the app that the teachers use to share updates and pictures throughout the day, and they have been prompt to call us when any issue or incident has arisen (e.g. minor bumps on the playground). They've also supported potty training and I have learned new tools and language for discipline and regulating big emotions that have helped immensely, as well. I just can't say enough about the quality of the Stepping Stones program and I wish they had more locations on other islands so that we could continue to be a part...

I loved Stepping Stones Academy because they have the most nicest and friendliest staff. Everyone is genuinely very kind and you could tell they loved what they do. My daughter loved it here. Admin Miss Julie is always there to answer every question you have and is just the nicest person to conversate with right when you walk in the door. Miss Ruby, Miss Flo, and Miss Marilyn were just the sweetest teachers and was very nurturing towards my daughter. I highly recommend this preschool.

The operating hours of 630am to 600pm was really great for me because I was able to finish school and the subsequent work training. Updates throughout the day using the ProCare app gave me peace of mind. This included snack time, lunch, nap time, bathroom breaks, and daily activities. Incidents were followed up with, which I appreciate. Staff would take the time to let me know about my son's behavior. Parents are invited to interact in events such as trunk-or-treat and book fair. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience at Stepping Stones Academy Waipahu.

Stepping Stones Academy- Waipahu is an EXCELLENT school. My daughter started going since she was two months old and if it was not for my financial situation she would stay there until she turns 5. The teachers are caring, friendly and I always felt they had my daughter's best interest. Because of SSA and their teachers my daughter knows the colors, numbers, shapes, is potty trained, has gone on field trips and knows how to spell her name. People always tell me she knows a lot for her age and all I can say it's all because of Stepping Stones Academy- Waipahu.

I loved Stepping Stones Waipahu. I liked the teachers and staff esp in Toddler 2 classroom. It was actually a bitter sweet because I know they took care of my son really well and I know that my son already made friends. I liked that they have curriculum for toddlers because not all daycare have that. Kudos to all teachers and staff. We will miss you.

We absolutely loved Stepping Stones Academy for our infant. They looked after our son as if he was their own child, giving him all of the love and care that he needed and then some.
Although all of the caregivers in the infant room were amazing, Ms Lei and Ms Christie in particular are rockstars!

They saved my child from an unsafe environment. Before Stepping Stones, I struggled to find safe, reliable childcare. While on their waitlist, they were communicative and supportive. Once we were in, we never left. We even brought our second child in as soon as she was old enough for daycare until she left for kindergarten.
The takeaway: I never had to worry. I never had to wonder. My children were safe and thriving at Stepping Stones, and they are now excelling in elementary school because of the specialized & individualized attention they received. If I had any inclination to have more children, they would be coming to Stepping Stones. But, no, Julie - it's not happening. I have loved being part of this family and genuinely miss seeing them each day, loving my children just as I do

Both my kids (3 years apart) attended SSA in the infant and toddler program. I was delighted to see many of the same faces from when my daughter attended (2019-2020) to when my son attended (2022-2023). The infant room in particular has 2 veteran teachers - Ms. Christie and Ms. Lei who are amazing and take such wonderful care of the babies. Truly treating them (and the parents) like family. There were a few new teachers that started who were also so amazing and so loving. It was bittersweet when my kids left because we were really going to miss seeing all the teachers. A big shot out to Ms. Cheryl in the toddler room as well—another awesome veteran teacher at SSA!
Overall the center is well-managed and very clean and everyone is so friendly and helps each other out. The only negative is that there is no outdoor place for the kids to get fresh air and run around.
